Compressor GORE-TEX Mitten delivers ultralight warmth for alpine missions
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I never head into the alpine without these in my pack. They’re lightweight, incredibly warm for their size, and hold up well when conditions get real. The PrimaLoft Gold with aerogel is no joke—it insulates like a down mitt but works even when wet, and the GORE-TEX keeps my hands dry no matter what’s falling."
When temperatures plummet and the wind picks up above treeline, we trust the Mountain Hardwear Compressor GORE-TEX Mitten to keep our hands warm and functional. Built for serious alpine conditions, this high-loft mitt uses a fusion of PrimaLoft Gold™ insulation and NASA-developed aerogel to trap more warmth with less weight. Even in soaking conditions, the synthetic fill continues to perform, making it a go-to for demanding winter expeditions.
A GORE-TEX insert offers complete weatherproofing while maintaining breathability during active climbs. The Pertex® Diamond Fuse shell adds abrasion resistance without bulk, and the grippy palm fabric helps maintain dexterity for campsite tasks or rope work. Topped off with a soft fleece lining and reflective loop for easy drying, this mitt is mountain-ready, no matter how cold it gets.

Best gloves ever!
Light weight and totally water proof. Hands stay warm and dry even when everything else is soaked!

Very solid mit, with room for layers
Great fit, enjoy the gripping texture on the hands. The cinch and loosen pulls are a little small for managing with a mitten hand, but if they were to big, run the risk of catching. The arm tethers are good so far but look like they may wear out quickly. No issues so far.

Too Long
They are well made and wonderfully warm for the weight. I got them for a light weight mitten to waer in the winter in the midwest. They are warm into the teens for me and my hands tend to get cold easily. The only problem I have with them is their shape. They are way too long. There's at least and extra inch in length beyond my fingertips. If I hold them up against my Absolute Zero mitts and align the thumbs, the Compressor mits are far longer and the Absolute Zero are double mitts. It makes them very hard to grab things with and also makes for wasted space to heat and adds to their weight, although they are super light to begin with. If they make them shorter, I would absolutely get another pair but not the way they are now.

Perfect for cold weather comfort touring
These are excellent for backcountry touring and pack easily. I only wear them when the temp drops, perfect for staying cozy when the weather cools. They’re a tool designed for the job, and they do it flawlessly.

Warm but not tough
I'll start by saying they are incredibly warm. But are not durable at all. I used them snowboarding and after about two hours of moderate riding, I noticed they were falling apart. The little black dots on the glove used for grip started to fall off. Aside from that the overall build quality is flimsy, and i feel like they will get torn on the slightest snag.
