Weird size can’t fit water bottle and no returns

I wanted to like it as I was looking for a light sling bag. This one is disappointing. The size is neither small enough to be comfortable or big enough to hold a proper water bottle (not even a small plastic water bottle fits, let alone a regular canteen). It comes with a water pouch (?) that is kid-size and therefore useless plus flimsy to fill. The other issue I have is that this product can’t be returned! Strangely it had a no return or replace policy although Nathan Sports keeps selling the product (i.e. not discontinued). Now I am stuck with a bag I will never use.

Great ‘one-bag’ for minimalist hikers

📌 Bottom line: If you’re a casual, minimalist hiker, the Nathan 2L sling could be a great do-it-all bag. It’s like a cross between a running vest & waist pack, with minimal movement and easy access to water/snacks. 📝 Background: I’m a casual hiker who does anything from 3-mile walks to 12-mile hikes. I’m not a runner but like running products for their minimalist footprint. I started looking for a different pack for a few reasons: • Pack size – I wanted a mid-size pack since my daypack was overkill for the length of trips I do, but a fanny pack was too small. • Pack movement – I wanted something that wouldn’t slide or bounce around like regular slings and backpacks. • Accessibility – I wanted a pack I didn’t have to take off each time I wanted a snack or water (I prefer flasks over bladders/reservoirs for cleaning). • Simplification - I really hoped to get one pack that could replace my multiple other hiking packs. I compared the Nathan 2L sling to several other methods/products: • Simply putting everything in my pants pockets (heavy and annoying) • Handheld water bottle (not enough storage, didn’t like my hands being tied up) • Running vest (tiny, expensive, made me look like a wannabe runner) • Sprints Sling It (tiny, awkward to wear, cheaply made) • Janji Multipass sling (bulky, poor internal organization, overpriced) ✔️ In the end, the Nathan 2L sling was the winner. These are the pros for me: • Easy access to your items: I wear the sling on my front and can quickly reach my water flask, snacks, and phone without having to take off the pack. • Whole-waist stabilizing strap: The stabilizing strap wraps around your entire waist. For me this was way more comfortable and secure than the half strap that Janji and Sprints have. I didn’t feel like I had to keep awkwardly tugging the strap down. • Just-right size: This pack is adaptable for different adventures. It’s small enough that you won’t overpack, but big enough to carry a phone, water flask, snacks or light lunch, small sunscreen, and headlamp. • Decent number of organization pockets: It has a back zip pocket + main zip pocket with two internal organization pockets. This separation, rather than just one huge compartment, helps minimize bounce of smaller items. ❌ A few things I would change: • There needs to be a way to lock the daisy loops onto the waist strap. The waist strap slides freely through the daisy loops and therefore the whole bag slides around a bit if you lean from side to side, like when you’re scrambling. • I wish the bag had compression straps to tighten down lighter/looser loads. • It’s not totally bounceless while running. As a hiker I don’t care and just appreciate the fact that there’s a stability strap at all, but if I was a runner I’d probably stick with a dedicated running vest. • The price is a bit high. I didn’t pay full price and don’t think I would for something this small. • I wish it came in more earthy neutral colors (taupe, sage, gray, etc.) Overall, it’s a unique bag and the best I’ve found so far for my criteria. I did not get paid to write this review; I just wanted to flesh out these details for anyone else who has similar issues with packs!

Love it!

Love this bag! It’s the perfect size for keys, wallet, phone, nutrition bars/gels and the included water bottle. It really is secure and bounce-free when running, which is what I was looking for. The colorway is bright and fun.

Love it - plain and simple!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is now my go-to bag I grab for everything...except running. Haha. In all fairness, I bought it for that purpose! I love the "belt bag" trend but I have always wanted one that was bigger and could hold more items...water included! This bag is just perfect. It has a TON of space - way more that I expected and I think it is so cute!! I also do want to add that I have used the additional waist belt to run in it (had to try it out) and I was shocked at how well it stayed in place.

Would be great…if I didn’t have boobs

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was very excited to try this sling. However, I found that no matter what, the main strap slid up and chafed my neck. I stopped multiple times to adjust the main and torso straps, until I got so frustrated with it that I changed it to a sort of side Fanny pack—that was the only semi comfy way I could finish my run. I loved the idea of being able to carry water and my phone in this sling, and the sling itself is well made, but my boobs seems to be the issue. All of that being said, it’s a nice Fanny pack or crossbody sling to use for walks, theme parks, or non-strenuous activities.

Perfect size!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This sling is the perfect size! Great for carrying my phone, keys, headphones, water etc. while running, hiking and walking. It's doesn't feel bulky at all, and the extra torso strap means it doesn't bounce at all when running which is amazing!! It's also stylish enough to wear out and about during the day, so getting a lot of use.

A RUNNER'S DREAM

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I went on a long run with this sling and it did not bounce around AT ALL. It fit my phone, a pair of gloves, neck warmer, gu, airpods case, keys, and still had tons of space left. Even with all of these things I still hardly noticed it was on my body while I was running. And not carrying my handheld water when its 30 degrees out was a huge plus. Excellent, perfect, I'm in love - 100 stars!!!!!!
