I like moccasin type shoes. EE wide toe box, 'B' or 'C' heal. My foot's dorsum is somewhat built-up/high. I use Oboz's 'Wide' size shoes. For a classification label, I'm an avid walker/day hiker. Generally on volcanic, sharp edged granites, obsidians and other igneous rocks that effect abrasion beyond what composite material uppers can withstand. At altitudes (5,000 ft. to 14,000 ft.). 'Approach' "style" are generally generally better toe and heel protectives. These are good for fall, winter, & spring. Rugged foot bed, B-dry lining performs poorly in the hot, dry summers {part of reason for my '1' star less than perfect, other part is NOT a steel shank}. Ventilation is insufficient with perspiration dissipation in + 80°F/299K in summer. (Should anyone be curious- when I re-hab my collection of BigSky II shoes, I substitute the Oboz factory shank with a rolled titanium alloy shank. 30% to 50% lighter)
