Why We Like The Ortovox Mesola Pant

The Ortovox Mesola Pant blurs the line between hardshell and softshell pants, resulting in high-performance protection purpose-built for seeking out fresh faces. The front thigh and lower leg are made with MERINO DEEP SHELL fabric with a waterproof DERMIZAX NX membrane, targeted to offer protection from wet snow where we need it most. The rear thigh, seat, and waist are made using MERINO AIRSOLATION to maximize our range of motion and increase breathability for uncompromising comfort. The pants are lined with soft Merino wool, which helps wick moisture away from our skin and keep us fresh no matter how many times we climb the skin track for another run.

These are awesome hybrid pants!

These are such a combo of having benefits of a shell pant but also being soft and comfortable. Built in gaiters are great and has 2 large pockets and ventilation zippers on both sides! Great for skiing or boarding in lighter conditions. They are water resistant but I definitely recommend treating them with a DWR spray. It will greatly inhance the performance and durability and takes only av few minutes. These can be used for lots of outdoor activities! I'm 6'1, 172lbs athletic build with roughly a 30 to 31 inch waist and the large fit great. They have a velcro belt that makes it very easy to adjust the waist. If you've never owned Ortovox gear, be prepared on your first purchase to possibly have to exchange for another size...Their size chart especially for pants doesn't usually match up to reality. That said, it looks like by their new inventory they are trying to come out with more size options like large/Regular, large/ short etc. Which is great because many of their pants would fit length wise but the waist would be too big or small. They have also started putting that velcro waist adjustment in more of their pants which is another awesome update! These are pricey but like I say in all my reviews, If you wait you can get great sales. I waited for roughly a year and got these for 65% off. Just a side note, the Mesola jacket is also awesome!
