Why We Like The Atmos AG 65L Backpack
It's simple: the comfier the backpack, the comfier the hike, and the comfiest backpack is the one that fits best. The Atmos AG 65 Backpack is Osprey's best-fitting, most ventilated, and comfiest option for multi-day treks. Multiple adjustments running vertically and horizontally place the padded shoulder straps and suspended mesh back panel right where we want them, and the padded Fit-on-the-Fly waist belt lets us buckle, cinch, and go without hassling with a bunch of micro-adjustments.

Here's what customers have to say
This backpack is well-regarded for its comfort, adjustability, and ability to carry heavy loads. The suspension system and ventilation are particularly praised, making the weight feel lighter. It has useful features like side access zippers and hip belt pockets. However, some users noted downsides like reduced weight capacity, difficulty stripping down for lighter loads, and issues with the torso adjusters. Overall, it is considered a high-quality and versatile backpack that is comfortable to wear even with heavy loads.

Very nice backpack! The only
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very nice backpack! The only issue that I have noticed is that the pockets on the hip straps seem pretty high and don’t fit well.

I’ve been eyeing this pack for years. I finally snapped and had a great test run with it. I took it straight into a 4-day trek through Wyoming’s Wind River Range (Cirque of the Towers). It met expectations. Super comfortable once dialed in, handles weight well, and the storage is unbeatable. Big, functional hipbelt pockets and smart organization throughout with additional front exterior pockets. Not for the ultralight crowd, if that needs to be said again. It seems durable based on the material, but I will have to get it out more before fully endorsing that. Would absolutely recommend.

Hi Osprey Packs. I like
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hi Osprey Packs. I like the pack but I feel like the hip belt is too wide for my body type. If I have the top of the belt tight under my ribcage the bottom hits where my legs meet my torso in the front, right in the joint, causing cramping and fatigue. I've only used it locally on training hikes and will be going on my first backcountry trip next week in the Trinity Alps. Where can give you more input after my trip. Thank you. John

My Atmos AG 65 was
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Atmos AG 65 was a replacent for my 10 year old Atmos backpack. After 10 years the old pack started "delaminating", I guess it is called, when the coating inside starts to peel. I was happily surprised when Osprey replaced the pack under their all mighty guarantee. I really liked my old Atmos for the ventilation on the back and for the pockets. I am finding I like the Atmos AG even more. It fits me better and carries very well for me. It is not nearly as light as my Kakwa, but the convenience of the pockets, the airflow for my back, and just the general feel of the weighted pack will keep it relevant and useful for many years to come. I expect this pack will not spend much time hanging in the closet.

This is a replacement pack.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a replacement pack. I got my first Atmos pack in 2007, which I absolutely loved. This pack is even better - more comfortable straps and overall better ergonomics. I have not yet had it out on the trail, but I am very excited for this summer.

Early days. . .
I’ve not used this pack for multiple days (which is why I’ve bought it), but have loaded it up for day walks. It’s a well constructed pack - heavy - but with plenty of options for storage. The quality is excellent and the support it offers is great. If you’re going for a ‘bells and whistles’ pack then this is a good choice.

So far delighted
We've only spent a short time together, but this pack has eaten up everything I've thrown at it. I really like the suspension system. Once it's on, I hardly notice the weight at all until it's time to drop it off. I would have liked the hip pockets to be a lot more extendable downwards and I find the cinch on the main compartment to be a bit awkward, but the fact that you can access the main from the two sides now makes that less of a problem. I really like the adjustable split sleeping bag compartment too. So no significant issues and a Happy Camper here.

Comfortable and easily adjustable to fit your needs. Easily the best back pack I’ve ever owned, well worth the money.
