Why We Like The Daylite Plus 20L Backpack
One of the most versatile packs in Osprey's collection, we like the ingeniously designed Osprey Daylite Plus Backpack because it is a roomy daypack that attaches to larger Osprey packs on longer adventures. The relatively compact, easy-carrying size lends itself to everything from spirited hikes up towering peaks to sightseeing along tropical coastlines and jungle ruins.

Here's what customers have to say
The backpack is generally well-received, with many customers praising its versatility, comfort, and organization features. Reviewers highlight the pack's lightweight and spacious design, making it suitable for daily use, travel, and day hikes. The front pocket with organization and the deep side pockets for water bottles are particularly appreciated. However, some customers have experienced issues with the fit and adjustability, especially for taller or larger individuals. Additionally, a few reviewers noted concerns with the durability of the zippers and the lack of insulation, which can lead to the contents getting warm. Overall, the backpack is considered a great daypack for most users, though it may not be the best fit for everyone.

Awesome day pack. Perfect for
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Awesome day pack. Perfect for two large water bottles on the outside, a medium sized laptop in the sleeve, and still room for a few more small things on the inside. I fit my 14" MacBook Pro (2023 model if you're looking for specifics) in the sleeve with room to spare. It has a surprising amount of room inside for how small it looks. I can also use it for day hiking or bike commuting. The bag feels well planted on my back and doesn't move around much.

I wanted a lighter backpack
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted a lighter backpack on my trip this summer, and as always, Osprey delivers!! It's just the right size to fit on top of my carry on bag, and stows nicely under the airplane seat. Very comfortable fit for a 5'5" female.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's an attractive bag. I got all black so I could use it for work. It's a bit small, though. I like all the compartments and organization features, but it seems like a tight fit for my lunch, computer, books, and purse.

I got the Daylite Plus
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Daylite Plus to act as a compliment to my Farpoint 40 for travel. I'm really pleased with how it can attach on the Farpoint despite not being the Farpoint-specific daypack, because this gives me a daypack with a bit more space. The main compartment holds a surprising amount of stuff for its size, and the bag is really comfortable to wear and carry. It worked really well being carried through the airport and also serving as a daybag for both around the city and campground camping. The colors are really vibrant too, which makes it look sleek and stylish. I also really appreciated how the service was quick and easy from ordering to delivery.

Returning
So sad to return this. I love the color and overall design look of the backpack. It is also incredibly comfortable. The straps are cushy even though they seem quite thin, and they are also set a good distance apart so they don't rub your neck at all. The grab handle also lays flat which I love. So why return it? Primarily because the bottom of the backpack is constructed/sewn at a steep angle so there is no way to stand the backpack up on the bottom. To set it down it must be laid down completely on its front or back. It doesn't matter what is in or not in it. It comes to a very sharp and stiff point at the back. . . So much so that it is even impossible to lean up against something if the ground/surface it's on is at all smooth. I hike with a backpack in addition to visiting theme parks with a backpack. I do not want to have to worry about holding the backpack up while I dig through it and retrieve things. You have to hold it up while digging through it so it doesn't fall over and then continue holding it up while you use whatever it is you retrieved. If you don't it's just going to fall right over onto its front. . . . Which then can spill the contents and gets the pack dirty. I cannot understand why a backpack would be designed in a way that doesn't allow it to stand up. . . . The backpack also feels smaller / more narrow than one would expect from the capacity. The contents in the main pocket do not feel very accessible. I had some small binoculars in the front pack and had to remove them in order to remove what I wanted from the main pocket. You can't dig around in there effectively because it doesn't open up very wide so you have to remove the things that are on top to reach the things on the bottom. This ends up with a big mess of items spread all over the place while you were also trying to hold up the backpack. I did a day hike with it once and that was more than enough. The sunscreen had slipped to the bottom of the main pouch and I had to take out the binoculars in the front pouch, the jacket in the stuff pouch, loosen the cross straps attached the front pouch, and remove the soft-sided lunch container from the main pouch to get the sunscreen out. And then of course the backpack needed to lie down completely next to all the items in the dirt so that I could have two hands-free to use the sunscreen. It was honestly a bit comical. We then stopped at a restaurant and since I had my wallet in it I just brought the backpack in and could not lean it up against The bench I was seated on and since it was a bench I couldn't hang it on the back like I would a chair. . . . This left the backpack laying flat on its back on the dirty restaurant floor. Now I know to check if a backpack can stand up before I buy it!

Daylite Plus
I own about 6 different Osprey packs in various sizes. The Daylite Plus is my everyday pack and I absolutely love it. Well built and well thought out. If it ever wears out (unlikely), I’ll just buy another one. Can’t beat it.
