Fairview Wheeled 36L Travel Pack

Love this bag

I've now traveled with this bag as my carry-on on birding trips to Borneo, Finland, Bhutan, Uganda, Peru and several more countries. It holds a lot and compresses well (I also use compression bags internally to organize). I love the teal color, although it's looking less spiffy now after dusty roads, downpours, and gravel pathways. It packs easily with just enough extra compartments, and I especially like the little one at the top which is great for holding all those odds and ends that seem to have no other good place to be but need to be accessible if you need them (extra luggage locks, extra Rx glasses, highlighter pen, daily pills). It's light enough that I can hoist it to the overhead bins by myself (now a not super strong old lady) even with binoculars and camera, this freeing up my osprey daypack for lighter things. The only downside I see is that I have never needed the backpack feature, which I thought would be useful if I needed to carry both my main suitcase and this one. But it rolls over most surfaces very easily, and is easy to jump on stairs even, so essentially I am wasting the space and weight of that feature when I could pack a bit more in it if it was just a regular bag. Having said that, I tried the backpack feature out before purchase and liked the design. But I will probably buy another bag without the backpack next time.

I purchased this rolling backpack to carry my plein air painting supplies. Can lift it through rocky terrain & will use for airline travel as well. Love it!

I appreciate the functionality of this travel bag, the fact that you can use it as a backpack or rolling bag is fantastic. The material is sturdy and of great quality. Perfect as a carry-on for air travel!

Perfect for Humanitarian Response

I purchased this bag prior to a trip to Kenya, a trip that required a comfortable bag that could be converted into a backpack. My group was heading into the arid lands of Northern Kenya and the puddle jumper we took had weight limits. Needless to say, I needed a bag that could be used in the airports and also survive a week in a rural area with zero available services. This bag PERFORMED. It rolled effortlessly throughout the 35+ hours of travel. I loved its hybrid features which allowed me to easily convert it to a backpack when we arrived in our destination. Regardless of how much gear (clothes, headlamp, IFAK, emergency kit, toiletries, etc.,) the bag remained light and was comfortable to carry. I had also the accompanying day bag plus which attached perfectly to this bag. I was legitimately blown away by how comfortable it was to carry. The handle does protrude into the cargo space a bit but it never bothered or disrupted my needs. Packing for disaster response trips requires one to be savvy (and to be honest, you're traveling internationally, you don't need to go crazy on what items to bring. Trust me, you don't need that item). This Osprey bag is my preferred bag to travel, for work or for personal needs. And yes, she fits perfectly in overhead cabin space. I've taken this bag in several international trips, some for fun and others for my line of work and each time this bag ensured I had everything I could need. Highly recommend. @Osprey - please continue to keep this in your lineup.

Very nice bag but too big for carryon

Very sizeable and comfortable. I was looking for something a little bigger than my 55 that also had wheels as it can be tiring carrying around a heavy bag/backpack. Unfortunately this bag is too big to be used as carryon luggage (as was my reason for purchasing). It also has a very visible V in the middle for the tube that hinders your ability to pack as much as you would like.
