Why We Like The Osprey Farpoint 40 Travel Pack
Made for hostel hoppers, globe trotters, and adventure travelers, the Farpoint 40 is a streamlined travel pack that Osprey has tricked out with technical features from its legendary backpacking lineup. We can wear it like a backpacking pack with a ventilated Airscape backpanel and adjustable frame that transfers the load from the harness to the hipbelt for safe and comfortable carry. The frame and hipbelt are both stowable to fit easily into overhead bins and train racks or safely check our luggage.

Here's what customers have to say
The Osprey Farpoint travel pack is widely praised for its excellent carry comfort, intuitive packing, and durability. Reviewers find it to be a well-designed pack with a large main compartment, though some note a lack of organizational pockets. While a few had minor complaints, the majority were very satisfied and would purchase the pack again.

Aweseome. Its a great backpack,
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Aweseome. Its a great backpack, its carry on size, and everthing you could need. They honored the warrantee and sent me another when the frame was damaged. This is the move over the 55 which is a more minimal version of this backpack + another 15ltr day pack. This main backpack has more compartments and is more useful, especially when paired with a different day pack of your chosing,

One Week Trip To Maui
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Packed this bag for a week-long trip to Maui and used it as a carry-on with Hawaiian Airlines—no issues at all. It easily fit all my clothes with extra space for souvenirs on the way back. Even fully loaded, it was incredibly comfortable to carry through the airport. The straps and back panel are hands-down the most comfortable setup I’ve ever used. At 6'4", most bags tend to sit awkwardly or create pressure points, but this one fit perfectly and eliminated all that usual discomfort.

Bring back the Side Strap.
Great product. But please add the side strap back to the back like the old version has. It is very convenient to be able to quickly sling the the over your shoulder quickly and be hands free. Also needs a smaller pocket inside, a key clip in the toiletry pocket , and an exterior open top pocket for magazines, paperwork, tickets, etc.

Seems like great quality. I
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Seems like great quality. I don't like that the hip straps can't be tucked away if I just want to use the shoulder straps.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Haven’t used it for a trio yet but I am impressed (as always with osprey) with the durability and quality. This is my 4th pack from them and couldn’t be happier with alll of them. We have a toddler and I’m looking forward to having both hands free in airports now.

I just used my fair
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I just used my fair point 40 and the day pack for a trip to Europe. London,Zurich,Interlaken,Paris and Omaha Beach. I had zero issues flying without checking my bags. We did a lot of train transfers and walked a whole bunch with our gear. It was easy to use and very comfortable to wear. I have no cons about this set up. I am going to get my wife a rig like it. Switching from backpack to carry satchel is effortless and vise versa. I highly recommend this product.

I took the Farpoint as
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I took the Farpoint as my one bag on a four-stop, two week trip to Greece. The pack was phenomenal. I had no issues with taking it as a carry-on on any airline. Packing the bag is straightforward and intuitive. The carry comfort is the best I have experienced and excellent for navigating the many steps and hills encountered during my trip. Overall, this is the best travel pack I have used.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Wonderful travel backpack! I still can't figure out how to tuck the waist strap without it hurting my lower back, but I'll figure it out.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great bag- well made. A little bit bigger than I thought it would be- but just means it can that much more. Very happy with it!

5 years and still the zippers are sub par.
I bought this 5 years ago for trip to Europe so I could take everything as carry on. Size is good but the zippers catch and just don’t work as efficiently as other packs I own. I really wish companies would not send manufacturing overseas, as the quality of USA made products are just so much better. I’d be happy to pay 20-30% if items were made in the U.S. I usually revert back to my old MountainSmith from the early 90’s that was made stateside and zippers work great after 30 years. Sincerely, Stop sending jobs overseas!!!!
