Why We Like The Osprey Hydraulics LT Hydration Reservoir
Osprey doesn't mess around when it comes to keeping us comfortable on the trail, and that's evident in the design of the Hydraulics LT Hydration Reservoir. Made with twin-welded chevron baffles, this reservoir limits sloshing, stabilizes water, and maintains a flat profile in our pack. Osprey equipped the Hydraulics LT with a convenient Slide-Seal closure for easy-filling at the kitchen sink or spring, and the magnetic bite valve ensures we don't lose any water until we're good and ready to wet our whistle.

New design is a step backwards
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I had an Osprey Hydraulics 2.5L for nearly 8 years before it finally gave up the ghost. The new version is a step backwards. The older design allowed easy lifting and placing of the bladder into a full backpack due to the horizontal hand grab at the top of the bag. This allowed you to slide the bladder in and out of the bag without having to squeeze your hand between the bladder and the backpack. The new handle runs vertically down the top part of the bag which eliminates the advantage of the prior design. It also creates two attachment points of the external handle to the reservoir which simply means there are now two points of failure waiting to happen if you put too much stress on how you handle the bag when carrying by hand. Also, the old design featured a wider mouth which made for easy filling and dumping. I don’t understand why Osprey has chosen to shrink the size of the opening. One point in favor of the new design is the shut-off value at the mouth piece which keeps you from accidentally spilling water out of the drinking tube when setting your pack down for the day.

Great little reservoir
This is my second one - it’s very easy to fill, is the perfect size for me. My only suggestion is that the hygienic cover for the tube should be an intrinsic part of the kit rather than an additional purchase.

A great alternative to carrying
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A great alternative to carrying water bottles. Something about the new design makes the reservoir easier to fit into the pack; maybe it’s the increased structural support from the red frame. There’s a sort of permanently sticky closure at the top of the reservoir that keeps water from leaking out. Thanks for a well-made product!

Osprey Water Reservoir
I'm really enjoying the water reservoir. It is leak proof, fits well into my Osprey hiking bag and makes keeping hydrated so much easier when out and about.

Great water bladder
Everything is built to create a robust, great working long lasting water bladder. Easy to fill and drink from. I won’t buy any other bladder. I use mine whilst kayaking. It sit’s on my deck securely and the hose is ling enough to drink from whilst still paddling.

Great product
Easy to use, great size and shape. Only thing would improve is the magnet attachment to bag strap. It’s probably fine for osprey bags but with other bags that have smaller straps it comes off easily.

The quality is unparalleled and
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The quality is unparalleled and the design of the new bladder is awesome. After using Osprey for over a decade something stands out. The product is always phenomenal, but the customer service is what keeps me coming back

Very disappointing
I used this 5 times and then realised that it was leaking. Two holes near plastic holder. Very disappointed and suspect this is a design fault. I have the 1. 5 L one and it has been fine for over a year and still going strong

Thanks and yes the bladder
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks and yes the bladder is just as described. The baffles inside keeps it quiet while walking/hiking out and about. This version of the bladder is awesome. The only downfall is that it is difficult to insert the inner fit collapsible device to air dry it after cleaning
