Why We Like The Osprey Sojourn 60L Bag

We like the versatility of the redesigned Osprey Sojourn 60L Bag—which lets us wheel around our belongings or carry them comfortably on our back. It features a durable and sustainable build with high-tenacity and ballistic fabrics that are highly abrasion resistant and made from recycled materials to conserve resources. The high road chassis and 90mm wheels can handle rough terrain, or we can access the removable harness and hip belt to carry our belongings backpack-style. This pack is travel-friendly with a large, clamshell opening for easy packing and unpacking, internal mesh and liner pockets for organization, and padded sidewalls and compression straps to protect and secure our loads.

On our third Sojourn

As seasoned railway travellers between the UK and Europe, we find the Sojourns meet our needs perfectly, being easy to roll and to carry on the back. They're very forgiving in terms of being stuffed to the brim. We're onto the latest generation of Sojourn (our first one survived 18 years of European travel before the telescopic handle gave up), which now features a detachable back harness. Removing the latter only saves 500 grams in weight, but then you have a bit more stowage at the back where the harness usually goes. Can't fault the Sojourn – and there's a big plus: it's backed by Osprey's All Mighty Guarantee, which, so far as we're concerned, justifies the price you pay for the pack.

Hearty and User Friendly

Spent 6 weeks in Europe with this backpack, and I was so happy to have it. The wheels give it a smooth ride through airports and are sturdy enough to handle cobblestone streets. The handles on the top and side make it easy to toss into the back of taxis, on and off of luggage carousels, and up and down stairs. I STUFFED it by the end of the trip, and the internal and exterior straps made it easy to squeeze it all in. The zippers are hearty, and easy to tuck away inside the padded “wings” so I felt a bit more secure on trains and through various airports. The handle went through a lot of ups and downs, and is still moving smoothly. I really love this pack! My travel buddy has the green one and loved it throughout the trip, too.

Not great quality

I wanted to love this bag. I have been osprey loyal for as long as I can remember. But for the price point of this bag, you would expect it to hold up a lot better than it did. I used it for a six week trip to Europe. The plastic chassis is absolutely beat to a pulp and looks like it went around the world 4x. The back zipper broke that holds the backpack straps in. I love my other osprey bags and will continue to use them but if I could return this bag, I would. This just doesn’t seem like it will hold up past a couple trips. Good in theory, but I would pass on this bag.

Sturdy

Excellent bag. Bought two large 100 litre bags a decade ago to go travelling around India and both bags still going strong. Wanted a slightly smaller version with wheels and so went for this 60 litre version. Worth the money and hopefully will last another 10 years.

Great bag

I love this suitcase and take it on every trip. Small enough so it's easy to move but can fit a lot in!

JMV

Lovely looking bag but the location of the wheels handle means it’s difficult to get hold of when on the move due to the location of the grab handle. The handle is also poorly engineered so I have returned it - still awaiting refund. Given 2* as other elements satisfactory but not a cheap item.

I love the size of

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the size of the bag for traveling. Unfortunately I came off my first international flight only to find the cover for the backpack straps had the zippers completely disconnected & no way to reconnect them. I’m on a 2.5 week trip & this makes it really difficult.

60 Sojourn

I bought this Osprey at the last minute because I had. Sojourn 45 and love it but it was a smidge too small for space I needed. Osprey is consistently quality, wheels, zippers and it fits a lot. I travel 300 days out of the year on conservation projects in Asia and Africa. Osprey is rugged with option of backpack straps.
