Great Quality
Good product, great materials, and good quality. Great for hikes out in the Arizona and Utah heat.

Really nice sun shirt
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- XL
I went on a tear and bought a bunch of different long sleeve sun shirts and the Crater Lake is my favorite so far. I bought a few Freefly shirts, OR ActiveIce and OR Echo shirts. The Echo is the lightest but the sun protection is low so I only wear it if it's overcast. The ActiveIce is heavier and less breathable but still really nice, the Freefly shirts are very breathable and comfortable but they also don't offer the same sun protection.

The best OR hoodie for hot dry weather
I pivoted from thinking people wearing sun hoodies looked strange and ninja-like to owning several after I tried one! I have worn all three OR men's sun hoodies over three years in dry conditions over 7000 feet (2100m) in Colorado in all seasons. My favorite for hot weather is actually the OR Spectrum ActiveIce hoody. While it feels heavy on the skin at first and does not have the perforations of the Echo hoody, it is surprisingly cooler. Over the past few days, I have been feeling amazingly cooler wearing it mountain biking in 90-degree F at 7600' versus a thin cycling jersey with uncovered arms. The Echo fabric is lighter and feels softer, but the skin on my arms feels hotter than in the Spectrum. The ActiveIce technology seems to actually do what they say it does. I find the Astroman hoody to create a crinkling sound in my ears that obscures my hearing and distracts from the silence; the fabric is stiffer, so I only use it in very windy conditions or under a tight helmet.

Loves it and lives in it

He loves it and lives in it. All Seasons. He completed a 300+ miles bike packing trip (XWA) and the only tops he had were two of these OR shirts. It's also survived a year of almost daily use biking, skiing, climbing, and construction use.

Great sun protection!
I purchased this shirt to hike R3 at the Grand Canyon. It’s my first OR purchase and I love it. Light weight, good stretch, and excellent sun protection. I will be buying other colors for this summer.
