Why We Like The Outdoor Research Foray 3L Jacket
Through spring showers and mid-summer thunderstorms, the Outdoor Research Foray 3L Jacket keeps us dry and protected. The proprietary AscentShell Dry 3-layer design with Nikwax DWR keeps wind and rain off as we trek to high mountain passes and through dense forests, while the breathable material keeps us cool in warm weather. The TorsoFlo side vents allow us to wear the jacket as a poncho over our backpack to keep our gear dry and allow hot air to escape on grueling climbs. The jacket packs down small to easily fit inside our pack, so we can always be prepared for inclement weather.

Effective in the rain and wind, and the full-length pit-zips are really helpful in quickly cooling you down. It dries out fast, good fit, and overall a great jacket.

I prefer the older materials they were made with
A good all-purpose raincoat that really keeps you dry. This is my 3rd Foray, so I must like them. I don't however like the new material. Too stiff and noisy. No longer Gortex ???

Great Rain Jacket
Very waterproof, lightweight and has pit zips. Nice rain jacket. Would buy it again. Went to a ball game this weekend and it rained for hours waiting on it to start. Stayed very dry with the jacket.

Rain just sheds right off. Love the poncho style
It’s a great fit for layering, offering flexibility to adapt to various weather conditions. The poncho-style design is particularly appealing, especially for those who want to stay comfortable while sitting in the rain. The practical and functional design of the jacket, making it a valuable choice for outdoor enthusiasts.

Looks to be a great technical shell but tight in the mid section. While I could stand to lose a little weight, other XL jackets fit me without issue in this area but this one is a little snug. Still fits but will make layering in colder months difficult. All in all, great features. Constructed well, pit zips, multiple layers.

I was in constant rain for about 2+ hours while doing my work duties, Not one time did water get inside the jacket. The side ventilation helped out a lot with keeping the getting body heat out. Will recommend to the rest of my team for purchase.

I hike almost every day and am a ski instructor in the winter. I rely on OR quality to keep me safe and comfortable. The Foray 3L jacket is well made and designed for protection in inclement weather. I like its pit zips, large hook and overall lightness.

Not for people with muscle
I'm 5'6" 195lbs and stocky. Got a size L on "the drop" deal, so it's not returnable. If you have shoulders, a chest, and lats, you may want to go a size up if you can deal with the extra length. The sleeves and length of body were fine but zipping the jacket makes it tight. Can't wear anything under it other than a t-shirt.

Exactly what I was looking for in a shell. Super light and packable plus waterproof! Love it

Both Rain Coat and Shell
Best rain jacket yet! . Durable, good movement with kits or gear underneath. Has some versatility in pockets. Also used to double up as a Snow shell for a spring Colorado Snowfall. I really like the hood, no so large that it cuts your vision off but still sheds water off your face like a hat.
