Wish it was ventilated

I’ve purchased this hat twice in recent years, mainly because of the super-wide brim and excellent price point. I love that OR offers their hats in a variety of sizes, too, especially for women as we are often lacking for options in that area being stuck with “one size.” I’m a tall lady with a larger head and find that the large or XL in OR hats fits well. An improvement I’d love to see with the sun hats is adding ventilation on the crown. I’ve had the Sunbriolet before and it has some but I still find it’s not enough for those of us who live in blistering summer temps. I’d love to see a full brim hat with a fully ventilated top offered in pretty colours.

Not quite what I had hoped for but still nice.

The hat is comfortable, fits great. I have a pretty big head and the medium fits without squeezing. the brim seems a little backwards. It doesn't cover my face as I had hoped. my nose, cheeks, and chin are left exposed. I've turned it around and worn it backwards a few times. The comfort is great! I am hopeful they can correct the brim expansion for a little better coverage. the string is a must have for the wind.

best sun hat

bought this hat years ago and the only reason i bought another one is i gave the old one to my mom and she uses it for gardening. love the longer brim in the back, great for being in direct overhead sun. so so worth the money

Make an XS Oasis Sun hat with a proper tensioner

Am a small woman so ordered a Small but really need an XS which Outdoor Research does not make. Not happy with the fit because when I tighten the ‘draw string’ elastic the ‘stopper’ no longer has a spring to stop it slipping so have to tie the elastic in a knot. The way the hat is designed, the elastic cuts into my forehead and leaves a mark when it is tight enough to stay in position on my head. Have an older Large Sunbriolet that was my husband’s: it is a better fit and much better quality hat. Needless to say I’m disappointed and would return it if I hadn’t already worn it.

I gifted this to a friend who loves purple and also enjoys being out in the sun but needs constant protection from it. She loves the hat especially because she was able to adjust the fit and it provides her excellent sun protection. while also being stylish in her favorite color.

Great Sun hat

It's a great sun hat that offers a wide enough brim to protect from the sun, but not so wide that it gets in the way. Great purchase!

I just bought this hat, but have worn it a few times already. I love the brim size which is wide but not over-done, with the back a bit wider to keep sun off the neck. Perfect! I got a small because most hats are too big for me. This one was just right. It's light-weight and breathable, great for summer hikes/walks. I love the quality of the materials and the sale price made it all a perfect package!

I was very happy to see that this was offered in a small size since I have a small head and most hats are very sloppy. The hat fits me perfectly and is very comfortable to wear. No itchy spots or tags. The hat provides excellent coverage and exceeded my expectation. I bought white, so it also remains cool.
