Keep 'em on a short leash

Bought it for my 3.5 yo son. He has expressed interest in climbing, and has shown some aptitude for climbing the little wall at the neighborhood playground. But really I bought this for our hiking adventures. My son is fearless and quick, but kinda clumsy. We live in Ouray Colorado, so most of our hikes have a ton of vertical exposure. We wear our climbing harnesses and I tie him to me with 4-5 meters of 6mm accessory cord. I tie a few alpine butterfly loops in the middle so I can shorten up the rope as needed. The harness is great because he can't get out of it without my help. And when he's ready to hit the gym or the crag, it will still fit him.

We compared this to the kids momentum full body harness. To try we put the harness on our kid and turn the kid upside down over some nugget cushions. The momentum is more bare bones but it seems more secure than this one so we are returning this one.
