Here's what customers have to say
The Red Wing Oxford shoes are generally well-received, with many customers praising the quality of the leather and construction. However, the shoes require a lengthy break-in period, and some customers found them to be narrow or lacking in width options, especially for those with wider feet. The outsoles were also reported to wear down quickly, even with light use, which was frustrating for the price point. A few customers received defective or damaged shoes and had issues with the return/exchange process. Overall, when properly broken in, the shoes are considered comfortable and well-made, though the lack of width options and quick outsole wear were common complaints.

These Red Wing Boots were what you expect, but at a better price. I love the Mocs. Can’t wait until they wear in and age a bit.

By your regular shoe size
Read too many reviews telling me to go “up” in sizes, which I couldn’t they don’t make 14 in this one for immediate sale. I’m glad I didn’t have the choice. 13 fit me like all 13 size boots do. No “clown” effect. Comfortable, I have Hokas and on cloud shoes, for all day comfort, I’m not talking walking for hours on end, I’m talking desk job where I get about 5,000 steps in, in overall comfort by the end of the day, my feet do not hurt anymore or less. I love em glad I bought em.

Its classic, low-cut design pairs effortlessly with casual or smart outfits, and the craftsmanship is second to none. A timeless staple that gets better with every wear.

Very painful
I bought these last thanksgiving and they still have not broken in. They don’t just leave blisters but skin my entire heel. I try them every week and they often do the same thing.

Love the Look, Hard to Find
After searching for a couple of years ( none available during the Covid lockdown), I found a pair.. love the look but didn’t fit like the pair I had 30 years ago. Wide option would be nice and a tad more depth in the heel, feels like you readily can step out of the heel… most importantly the issue of insoles must be addressed . Out of the box, you feet and knees are jarred with every step. Add insoles and you’re adjusting so you don’t step out of the heel. I wanted two additional pairs, but will hold off until issues are addressed.

Great feel just like my boots!
Bought these Mox Ofords because I wanted a lighter leather shoe Incan wear during the summer. I decided on the Hawthorne colored oxford. I wear a 9d in Iron Rangers but when doing a fitting at our Augusta Raw store it was suggested I go with a 9.5D in these as they wear gonna feel like my 1907s. I was excited to get the call they arrived today and when I got to the store they went above and beyond and ordered the 9.5 and a 10 just in case. Tried on the 9.5s and immediately felt that familiar RW feel. I wore them out of the store since I put them on my prosthetic. Got home and went on a half mile walk in them just to try and break them in much like my days in the Army. I’m super impressed with the feel and just like my 1907s these oxfords just feel great. We inspected all the stitching in the sore and for any defects of which we found none. These mock oxfords will make a great summer shoe , the Hawthorne color will be able to match up with many summer attire and best of all my foot (singular) will be well supported and finally it’s great knowing I’m supporting a company that still employs and makes products in the USA. One day I hope to make a trip to the RW headquarters just to shake everyone’s hand!

They do the thing!
you HAVE to know your size in THIS brand. I would not expect your boots to fit if you’re using a measurement from any other shoe company (unfortunate but that’s the world of boots) You HAVE to wear them in before complaining about comfort. You’ll know immediately if they’re just way too big or way too small but I’ve never had a pair of boots that end up feeling the way redwings do. I started out with the 875s and they are my perfect boot, after breaking them in there is literally nothing they can’t do for me. From single handedly curing my foot pain to making me look sharp on the job, these boots are just a winner. The reason I sprung for the shop Mocs too is because I simply got tired of taking them on and off all the time. It might sound ridiculous to some but the only thing I could wear to help with my foot pain were the redwings and I didn’t want to be lacing and unlacing these big ole boots to walk the dog or run to the corner store. That’s where the shop Mocs come in. I knew my size from my previous pair of boots (which I got measured for and purchased at a redwings retail store) and they fit exactly like the boots do which is terrific. Obviously no ankle support, obviously I need to break them in (which takes months), but right out of the box I knew I made a good call on these shoes and honestly, feels like I made a new best friend (please don’t tell my wife that I talk about boots as if they’re my friends). I’m not sure if I would love the shoe this early into owning them if I didn’t already love the boots. But now that I own both, and I know what to look forward to, I can rate the boots a 10/10 but the shoes are a 11/10. Just terrific!

I purchased the Oro version. These will definitely need to be slowly broken in. But they are what I expected, and similar to work shoes I wore in 70s. I usually take a size 9 or 9.5. Other reviews mentioned they can run small, so I was glad I ordered the 9.5. The fit seems good but as I said time will tell once they break-in. They appear very well made and I pleased so far with the purchase. The price through Backcountry was about $30 cheaper than just about any other seller. I still think they are pricey, but the build quality of the shoes out of the box is impressive and in-line with my expectations. These were shipped FedEx but they delivered the shoes to the wrong address, sending me and Backcountry an email delivery notification having a picture of the delivery home (which wasn’t mine). After calling the fedex facility that loaded the actual delivery truck, I was able to get them deliver the shoes to my address same day. I wasn’t thrilled with Backcountry customer service on the phone. I first got a person that was not in the US. They really were of no help and difficult to speak to in English. A call to an actual person at Backcountry wasn’t much better in terms of what could be done immediately. I was told I needed to wait 48 hours before any investigation could be done. Calling FedEx, they told me the person shipping had to intervene and call. All I wanted Backcountry to do was to call FedEx and ask them to pick them up and deliver it the correct address. No, Backcountry would not. Good thing I was to get a phone number for the FedEx facility actually delivering the shoes to my home, no thanks to FedEx or Backcountry. I hope your shipping experience will be better.
