Backcountry-ready and waxless, BC 80 Positrack Skis glide, grip, and turn with ease
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I’ve toured with the BC 80 Positrack on rolling terrain and mellow backcountry slopes, and they strike a perfect balance between efficiency and control. The waxless base makes life simple—grip and glide are reliable in all snow conditions, and the steel edges give me confidence on descents. They’re lightweight enough to cover ground quickly but still feel secure when it’s time to point downhill."
Who It’s For
Adventurous Nordic Skiers and Backcountry Explorers:
Made for skiers who want to leave the groomed trails behind, the BC 80 Positrack suits intermediate to advanced skiers seeking a versatile, low-maintenance setup for touring and exploring variable terrain.
What It’s For
Backcountry Touring and Off-Trail Adventures:
Optimized for rolling terrain, light climbs, and untracked snow, these skis thrive when moving between flat approaches, forest trails, and moderate descents. The waxless Positrack base keeps momentum steady without fuss, while steel edges support stability and control when conditions turn firm.
Why We Like It
Simplicity, Control, and Lightweight Touring Performance:
We like how the BC 80 Positrack removes the hassle of waxing while delivering reliable performance across conditions. The lightweight wood core with air channels keeps things fast and lively underfoot, while Air Tip technology makes handling easier in soft snow. Full-length steel edges tie it together, giving this ski a secure feel that inspires confidence when navigating downhill sections.

No kick grip
I just bought a pair of Rossi bc 80 skis. Took them out and found they have no grip under the boots. None. Could not go up the slightest grade without sliding backwards. I have x-country skied for nearly 50 years including bc and never had skis that slipped this badly. So disappointed. Almost wonder if there was a manufacturing defect.

Demodon 's Rossi 80 true test
This ski is a great balanced ski and skis great in all trails or off trail conditions. Fits in tracks as well. Wonderful design Rossignol Ski Co. I have skied/raced Rossi's for over 50 years.
