No Bounce, No Fuss – Just a Solid Running Vest
Okay, so I’ve been using the Lalomon-ADV Skin 12 Race Flag vest for a while now—and honestly, it’s awesome. First off, the fit is great. It hugs the body just right—snug but not tight. Super comfy. I barely notice it while running, and it doesn't bounce around at all. It's also really lightweight and dries fast, which is perfect when I'm sweating. The color and design look pretty cool. It’s easy to match with pretty much any running gear. The soft bottles it comes with are solid too. They felt a bit plasticky at first, but after a few washes, no smell at all. Easy to drink from while running, which is a must. Storage-wise, it’s super practical. The front pockets are big enough for my phone, protein gels, and even an action cam. The back has a huge compartment—I can stuff a rain jacket, my wallet, even my glasses case in there, and it still feels balanced. And again, nothing bounces around. If you’re looking for a running vest that’s comfortable, looks good, and just works without fuss—this one’s a winner. I’m honestly really happy with it.

Excellent vest!
I love this vest. Was very hesitant to buy it because of the price, but since I was going to start focusing more on Ultra trail running, I knew I needed something good. It is extremely useful because it has a lot of storage options. Most with zippers to keep my things secure, and some without it to provide easy accesibility. The bottles are very efficient, no spilling, and the rope that secures them in place is very efficient. I weigh 200 lbs and I'm 5'7. I have a muscular build and I got the XL and it works great. I was afraid it might run big, but it fits well. I'll try to update once I loose some weight.

Still the best
Even though the top pouch is no longer there or our rubbish compartment is absent in the new version, the pack is still reliable and the utility is next to none. I've put roughly 200 miles on trail and about 300 on road into the pack over the past month. It has gone through several wash cycles in the machine and it is still holding up. It is recommended to hand wash BUT if you put the vest into a laundry bag and set the machine to tap cold and the spin to minimal, it will be just fine though your mileage may vary.

Still great except loss of stow pouch
I picked this up as a warranty replacement for my previous version ADV Skin 12, kudos to Salomon for backing their product. The new version definitely has some nice updates. The inside is softer and smoother which improves running shirtless, while simultaneously being reinforced in some key areas making the vest feel more durable. The vest feels like it fits closer and tighter to my body, perhaps it runs slightly smaller, though it could be my older vest has stretched. It also feels less strappy, with better options for clipping and stowing excess cord after cinching the vest down. The rear kangaroo pouch is easier to access as well, though at the expense of some capacity. The new flasks are a great touch and the shoulder pouches above them are actually useful now! The boggling change is the removal of the top stow pouch. That was my go-to spot for stuffing awkward things like sunglasses and other people's plastic water bottles I pick up on training runs. I used it almost every run, and there is no replacement for quickly stowing items. I get it was somewhat of an unfocused feature, but the fact that it served as a catchall for whatever random thing needed stowed quickly is what made that pouch great.

Wrong bag for my needs
I bought this to replace the Salomon Advanced Skin Cross Unisex which is 15 liters. The Cross 15l is made from a water-resistant and durable ripstop, while the 12 is a stretchy fabric made for dry conditions. The stretchy back piece feels light, and I worry about it being punctured since I'm over-stuffing it. The 12 (obviously) doesn't fit as much as well, so it's much harder for me to use it as I had intended. I run into work, and needed a backpack I could carry a small lunch, and a change of clothes in. The 15l tackled that easily, while I'm pushing the limits of the 12 to just get a change of clothes in.

Purchased for ultra distance cycling
I spent quite a long time looking for a vest that would allow me to carry quite a bit more food during bikepacking races without feeling like a backpack. This vest does that perfectly. It’s got so many pockets but unlike a cargo shorts from the early 2000s they are all practical and well thought out. I am 5ft 6in and the pack sits high enough on the back so that I still have access to the pockets in my cycling jersey.

Excellent!
Great functionality on the bike. Easy access to food and tools. Would be nice if it could accommodate a 100 oz. bladder.

2nd ADV Skin 12
I bought an ADV skin last year and still use and love it. I bought a second one so I can rotate vests at transition areas during races this season to save time. The first one my only gripe was the bladder holder on the back didn't really hold it well, but it wasn't much of an issue. This new one has upgraded that! Good job! But Salomon, why did you get rid of the the amazing top elastic pocket. That was a great place to store your jacket out of the way and access it without taking the vest off. Now there isn't an elastic pocket and it seems that you will have to remove the vest to access your jacket.
