Something changed
This is probably the tenth set of 4GTX boots that I have owned. They have always been my constant know what I'm getting boot. I was very disappointed in this last pair. There are pressure points where ever the plastic moldings join the material . Mainly mid-boot . Not sure why but I was very surprised as all my other versions were out of the box slippers.

Sad to see
I’ve owned a few pairs of Salomon’s over the years now. This last pair I’ve used for almost 4 seasons of Turkey, white tail, grouse, bear and pronghorn hunts. The sole finally started to separate on my first climb this year. I won’t be buying another pair of Salomon’s. I went to 2 stores to hold them and look at them. No where near the build quality of even 4 years ago. Crispis for the win!

Quest 4 Gore Tex
Had these around 3 weeks now. Took longer to break in than previous pair but all good. A little heavy but I wanted them for the support more than anything and ankle support is great. Waterproof at the moment but not tested them against the True Welsh weather yet. Ordered half a size up. These would be perfect if they came in the extra wide fitting.

Poor quality
The boots lasted 28 months. The heel came apart and leaked water. Salomon won’t refund or replace. Really disappointed. Avoid

great boot
Im on my 4th pair of these boots they are fantastic, great support and your heal locks in very well so there is no slippage. some mention the boot is a little on the small size, I have had my size and a 1/2 size larger and honestly i can t tell the difference they fit well

I have bought this boot every two years for decades. No more. Fit: The toe box is way to big - even after I added oversize soles with heavy socks - so I move around too much. Construction: On the first use - the rubber delaminated from the upper and it leaked. Iused to accept the light construction in trade for a very comfortable boot - but when it fails on the first trip, thats not good enough. I see from other reviews for years now - similar experiences. I can get a better boot for the same money - they dont fit as well as this boot used to fit - but the old Quest 4 is gone. Bye

Great upgrades
These are my fourth pair of these and these are better than previous pairs with upgrades made and are comfortable right away. Previous pairs the soles came adrift after three or so years and hope these stay attached longer.

Please bring back a wider fit!
My favourite pair of light boots. I've had only two pairs of the older Quests, because the last on the 4D got changed to a narrower fit and I can no longer wear the newer versions. Years ago, I bought the last pair of size 12 Quest 3s for sale on the planet (ordered them from someone in Russia over eBay). Please (please) offer them in a wide version. They are my go-to for early season hunting, military exercises, and search & rescue. Though I've been babying my last pair, I'm going to need a new pair soon!

Shockingly bad craftsmanship
I had two pairs of boots fail. The sole tore in one pair and a shoelace eyelet came off a second pair. To their credit, Salomon warrantied both. But I have never had issues like this before with Merrell, Vasque, or Kayland.
