Why We Like The Quest Element GTX Hiking Boot

With the featherweight construction of a running shoe and the rugged stabilization of a hiking boot, the Quest Element GTX gets us further faster. The taller shaft and leather build barrel through rock and brush, while the patented chassis technology keeps our ankles tracking as if we were sauntering along smooth, solid ground. Armored with an airy GORE-TEX membrane, this pair stops water and sweat from soaking our socks through as we cross creeks and huff up steeps.

Here's what customers have to say

The hiking boots are generally well-received, with many customers praising their comfort, support, and lightweight design. The waterproof lining is noted for keeping feet dry. However, some users have experienced issues with poor fit, premature wear, and problems with the waterproofing. There are also concerns about the overall quality and durability of the boots. Quest Element hiding boots

Excellent boots that provide the support, traction and padding [ need while hiking. I wore them on the Summit challenge to hiking 16 miles up to 9400 feet with a 500p foot elevation gain. Great product.

Great boot - totally waterproof!

I have had this in my boat a couple times and with the water levels this year I have gotten to the very top of the boot in the water while pushing the boat out from the beach. Completely dry foot inside the boot.. Also, the boot is very light and still has good support. I have not used this on an extensive hiking trip.

Awesome hiking boots

I bought the boots about a month ago and at first they were tight around the ball of my foot. I got a boot stretch to widen them a little and now they are perfect. I love them great support and no slipping forward in the boots on downhill descents. Highly recommend them

Hiker’s choice

Great grip, sliddown a steep hillside and the grip saved me when I was falling. Hiked decent distances 6miles, no feet issues. Went into a mud puddle knee high, my socks were dry. Easy to wash by hand.

Great boot for land surveying.

This is a great boot for my line of work. Great mobility and fit even for a bigger guy like myself.

The sole has cracked

Kind of dissapointed I had this pair for only one season and the sole is already cracked They are very comfortable, stable but not good on ice I explected them to last way longer considering the fact that they are kind of expensive Unfortunately, I can’t recommend them further because of the bad quality of the sole

Waterproofing non-existent.

Purchased these boots in advance a big trip in Nov 2023. They were comfortable out of the box and fit well, however, the waterproofing has not lived up to expectations. Even walking through wet grass, my feet got wet. During my trip, we had 4 days of rain and I could wring my socks out at the end of each day, definitely not what I expected from a Gore-Tex boot. I've worn other Salomon products and have been very happy, but these boots just did not live up to expectations.

Comfortable but lacking workmanship

I love Solomon boots. I have worn all types of cross trainers and boots for hiking especially purchasing ones with waterproofing. I have found that Solomon has decreased in quality of workmanship and waterproofing. Although I love these boots and bought in April 2023 (on sale) I just started wearing them in September of 2024. After each hike, I washed them (with just water) to make sure all dirt was off seams, dried with a towel. The front toe kick part , where the rubber is glued to the leather is already showing signs of breaking apart. This is really a disappointment as my previous Solomon would last for years! What is happening to this great shoe company? I will have to do a return on these awesome boots. I like the look and feel, they give great ankle support and are somewhat waterproof. Not totally waterproof as water is penetrating through their gore Tex liner. I would be careful about ordering this Boot if you expect high quality products .

Not my favorite

This is my 6th pair of Salomon fit and finish not as nice as any of my previous pairs. Always order size 11 and usually fit like a glove these are lose all around my foot and if you try to tighten with shoe laces they bunch up and look ill fitted . I should have sent back right away but gave them a week to see if they would feel better upon a break in period . they did not so pretty disappointed to say the least
