Day 1 - Nice and Painful

I had the boot and liner heat molded and added a custom footbed insert. I started the first couple of runs with them a little loose then slowly added a latch position until they were solid for carving. By lunchtime, I was in so much pain my son had to help me remove the boots. I thought a long lunch break would allow my feet to rebound, but that was not the case. The area just below my caves hurt so bad I could barely walk (no lie) even after a one-hour break. After a half day on the mountain, I headed home. Once home I removed the liner and began looking into why it hurt so bad. I found that 3" (76mm) up from the bottom of the boot, there is a lip that extended inward at the area where my pain began and also I noticed that the liner had a stitched seam 5.5" (140mm) up from the bottom, where my pain stopped. I will return to Christy Sports to have some adjustments made and see if that helps. I hope the boot gets better. I do have larger calves than most, but the area that was in pain was well south of my calves.

Be ready for some pain

I have worn the boots 4 times since I bought them, with the idea to test them out before professionally molding them. The first time I wore the boots I almost wanted to vomit from the pain I was experiencing. They were so tight and compressing the arch that I had to ski with them almost completely undone, not ideal. The other times the boots have softened up and have felt much better. When I finish a run I have to completely undo the top 2 buckles and ankle strap just to allow blood back into my feet. I am not sure why everyone is saying they are super warm. They are ok but nothing different to any other boot. I plan on getting them molded this week so hopefully that helps with the pressure.

Exactly what I needed.

This isn't the most expensive boot made, but it does everything I want/need. Goes to show that you don't have to pick the most expensive to get the most for your money!
