Speedcross 6 Trail Running Shoe bites into soft trails for high-speed grip and control

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"The Speedcross 6 is my go-to for muddy or loose trails. The traction is unreal, the fit is secure without feeling too tight, and I never worry about slipping when I’m charging downhill. It’s the kind of shoe that makes you feel confident moving fast, even when conditions are sketchy."

On trails where traction is everything, we count on the Salomon Speedcross 6 Trail Running Shoe to deliver secure footing, confident speed, and a precise fit. Whether we're threading switchbacks through alpine meadows or navigating muddy descents, this classic off-road runner keeps us locked in and moving forward.

Its deep, toothy outsole grips soft terrain like few others can, while the lightweight upper and welded construction shed mud and water to maintain agility. Salomon's Sensifit™ system provides a foot-hugging fit, and the Quicklace® design makes it easy to dial in snug support mid-run. Underfoot, the EnergyCell+ midsole adds responsive cushioning, keeping us nimble and protected on every high-mileage mission.

Good For Hiking

I’ve took these to hike rim to rim to rim of the Grand Canyon and they held up great. My feet felt very supported and comfortable. My only concern with them is the fact that I get blisters on the my arches when I use them to go running.

I keep ordering!

Love these shoes! I hike and walk a LOT~ a couple of hours a day. These hold up on the trails, are lightweight and easy to put on and off.

lacing system

AWE! Why change perfect. I have been wearing speed cross series since the very beginning . Great shoes! Mud runs trail running excellent!!! HOWEVER, the new lacing system has changed the whole fit. They fit very large, can't tighten up this shoe for a comfortable fit. The new design causes slippage in the heel and toe box . I did not realize they had changed now I have a shoe that maybe I can wear in the winter with two pairs of extra thick socks. So sad! anyone have any suggestions for something similar to the old speed cross?

Durable shoe with excellent off-road traction

I bought the Speedcross for a more aggressive tread pattern and find that they are completely dependable in slippery trail conditions. I trust my footing so much more with these on my feet!

LOVE SPEEDCROSS 6!

These are the most comfortable and easy to wear shoes I have ever owned. I'm now on my fifth pair. I wear them down before I wear them out!

It’s the only shoe I ever wear!

I have struggled with foot and hip issues for years and am a regular trail walker. These shoes have been my saviour. The support, cushioning and pull laces are all perfect for me. I will never order anything else other than these shoes.

Best shoe

I bought this shoe a month ago, and it is the best trail running shoe by far. I highly recommend it.

A very meh shoe

I think I was expected a more comfortable shoe. I wore these for multi-day hiking and while they performed well on mixed, mostly rocky, terrain stability-wise, they were quite uncomfortable underfoot. They also look really beat up already and have threads coming loose and a few nicks. Admittedly I haven't worn for trail running yet and I suspect they might far better on a less rocky terrain. I had to size up 1.5 sizes to get a comfortable fit. They run very narrow. Wouldn't repurchase unfortunately! They just didn't wow me.

Speedcross 6

This is my second pair of Speedcross 6 Runners and I love them! I am training for a very hilly 25 km trail race and they are perfect for that terrain. I would highly recommend them! Super comfy and good grip!

Speedcross 6

I was a big fan of Speedcross 5 and had several pairs over a few years. I do not like there nearly as much. The fit is different, the fabric is much softer and scrunches up. The shoe is less attractive, looks much bigger. Not as good color selection. Not sure why the 5 had to be changed?
