Tough mid hiking boot.

Comfortable but, a lot hotter in the summer than I was expecting. Not recommended if your feet run hot. Water proofing was pretty good but not great worked for snow and some light creek crossings but not so good in a inch or two of water. They have been really durable though, I have worn them everyday for the last 18 months just about and they are just now starting to break down externally and the gor-tex liner. Starting to lose comfort because the insoles are worn out.

Not what I was expecting!

I have been a Solomon shoe guy for some time now. Generally, Fitment is great and I can go on long hikes with a brand new pair of shows with no break in time. I like their style and up until recently have been very happy with their shoes. I don't know what happened with the latest model change of the Ultra, but the materials have gotten very thin and I don't have faith that they will last long. They also removed a row of the open-ended lace cleats near the top that helped secure the shoe against the ancle better. Now I get endless amounts of trail debris that dump into the sides. Additionally, the waterproof quality does not extend to the mesh near the laces. Those part saturate very quickly and I immediately start to have wet feet. This makes a huge difference when compared to my old pairs, on my 15-20 mile hikes in Maine's wet, spring conditions. I don't know if this was a weight reduction process or a cost savings measure, but it is something that I though Solomon was better at from an ethics perspective and I will likely need to find a more robust shoe brand going forward. It's a real shame. I just want a pair of vegan boots that are built to last and provide the best possible waterproof protections. Last, the soles are terrible on wet wood and roots, but great on wet rock.

Absolutely not waterproof what so ever

I purchased a pair of these boots November 2024 , they were used very sparingly until February 2025 , mostly on pavements and rarely in the rain. My first walk in the rain upon wet grass in February 2025 which lasted less than an hour resulted in wet feet . The retailer Cotswolds outdoors swooped them for an identical pair on 11th February. Once again they have been sparingly used , until today when I walked in the rain on wet grass the second pair have let more water in than the original pair. I intend to return them to the retailer tomorrow and get a full refund. What is really annoying is that these boots are so comfortable , however absolutely useless in the wet . I feel very let down , your advertising clearly states these boots are waterproof.

Terrible

The comfort is ok, but they are the noisiest, cheapest sounding shoes I’ve ever owned. They’re so loud people look at you. What an embarrassment.

Not waterproof

Wore these in the dewy grass yesterday for a run and after only ten mins, my feet were damp. Disappointing for Gore Tex. Overall, they are comfortable

Terrible.

These have to be the worst boots I’ve ever bought. They’re comfortable enough, no issue there. I have two other pair, the X360 CSWP, and they’re fantastic. But the Gore-Tex are horribly noisy. Embarrassingly so. I can’t wear them in public without crazy looks from people. They just feel cheap. I thought they might wear in and quiet down. No luck. Disappointing.

Great lightweight Hiking Boot

This boot the sizing has changed slightly they are smaller in the toe box. I went with a half size larger but I probably could have stayed with my regular size 10 and just broke them in. They are to me a light version on the quest boots that are much heavier and clunck than these. I've bought a few different salomon hiking boots over the years and you can't go wrong if you are a day hiker with these they are agile and don't slip dry or wet they get the job done and protect your feet in every situation. Excellent boots for summer to fall hiking that will last.

Not Bad

I’ve worn Salomon boots for years. Since they dont have the older model x ultra mid boots. I decided to try these ones out. They look nice and seem to have all the features from the previous model. However, they have an uncomfortable pressure point located on the inside middle part of both boots. Which makes it uncomfortable to wear as soon as you wear them. Hoping breaking them in after wearing them over time will fix this problem.

not sure

They seem too wide for my feet. My foot moves left to right a lot, causing pain after a while. They seem like great boots, but I'm not sure they match my feet properly.

Good Shoe - Lacks Mid Foot Support

I like these shoes - especially after I replaced the insoles. They are relatively comfortable and seem well made. My main gripe is that they are very weak on the mid foot support. Due to the structure of my leg, one of my ankles tends to over pronate a bit. These shoes do nothing to support my ankle, they may even encourage over pronation.
