Competent walking / cycling shoe
Purchased for a an active week away where in addition to walking comfort, I needed a sole stiff enough for a few hours pedalling in a day. Performed up to the task, lacing keeps neat & tidy. Only gripe was the lack of choice of shoes which do not use GTX or other breathable membrane. I would rather have a better ventilated upper which dries quickly, than a shoe that ends up wet with sweat & rain and takes longer to fully dry.

Narrow toe box doesn't work for me
I've had the boots for around a month, I've bought Merrel MOAB's for several years. I have a wide foot and need orthotics for flat feet. I bought from the London flagship store and found the shoes so comfortable that I wore them back to where I was staying in SW3. Towards the end of the walk they became uncomfortable and I stopped for lunch. When I got back to SW3, I found that my left big toe had been bleeding from under the nail. I have never had this issue with hiking boots before and I really liked the Salomon shoes. So I have persisted but they are just too painful. The toe space is just too narrow for me, I noticed that my big toe was beginning to curl over the next toe. I can wear them for short=periods without orthotics but my big toes are just uncomfortable. It's a shame I really like the look of the shoes.

Excellent Upgrade
I got these to replace my 2019 X Ultra 5 pair that were finally worn out after all these years of hard use. I really like the look of the new model, and the wide version fits perfectly. The tread is more aggressive, and the comfort and easy quick lace technology remain the same as my old pair. I hope they last as long as my last pair! I'll report back in 6 years on that...

A bid narrow.
I purchased these because I had purchased similar shoes in the past. The first pair I bought in the X series fit perfectly. The next one I bought had a painfully small toe box. I purchased these because they have "wide" in the title. They don't seem any wider than the last pair my X 360's. They both irritate my pinky toe. No more for me. I'm done.

Great shoe right out of the box.
This shoe fit great as Salomon shoes do. I live in South Florida and don't ever need Gore-Tex shoes. So ordered these and strait to the mountains of Peru. The shoe was great and never let me down with any blisters or sore feet. Love my Salomon's.

X ultra 4 wide gortex
I have the x ultra 4 wide gortex hiking shoes in black and love them allot They have been my every day shoe in the summer months With the strap /string is verry easy to put on and off quickly and that is my favorite part about it! Easy to go in and out of the house with ease no need to tie shoes all the time And the comfort is verry nice aswell i do recomend them đź‘Ť
