Here's what customers have to say

The hiking and trail shoe offers good comfort, stability, and traction, with many reviewers praising its performance. However, some customers have experienced issues with durability, such as the fabric wearing through or the lace eyelets causing discomfort. There have also been inconsistencies with the fit compared to previous versions. Overall, the shoe appears to be a versatile option for outdoor activities, but buyers should be aware of the potential durability and fit concerns.

Don't fit like my other Salomons

I have been bying size 9.5 with Salomon for ever. This model was different and I had to get a size 10. Also, if you like the fit of the Speedcross, Aero Blaze, Sense Ride and Ultra Glide, this paire is different. The toe box is much wider and because of it, I never feel like they are on securely (and I didn't buy the Wide ones). I kept them because I use them to walk. If I had I bought them to run, I would have returned them. Otherwise, they are nice looking and look well built. They should last a while.

Poor fit compared to earlier versions

I've had 10-12 pairs of these in the past and there is something off about the fit of the new version. The toe box feels wider, which I actually like, but the the shoe is uncomfortable near the arch area. It's possible they break in, but I don't want take a chance and void the warranty so unfortunately I'll be returning them.

Outstanding Hiking and Trail Shoe

Extremely comfortable with superb support my XA Pro 3D have never failed me. The draw string lacing allows for quick adjustment when needed. The soles provide excellent grip regardless of the surface and seem to wear very well. Easily the best pair of trail shoes I have owned.

My first Salomon, Best shoe i´ve ever had

Everything about this shoe is a game change for me. From the excellent grip of the sole, to the high comfort of the fit, all the way to the "slip-on"ish design that with that amazing tieup mechanism of just pulling the clip, I go from a comfy loose fit to a tight aggressive fit ready to hit the trails. 10/10 shoe, would buy it everytime over and over. Just some slight tearing on the side but after 2+myears of heavy trail, mud, rain and races, should be normal wear.

It is not wide enough.

It's a very beautiful shoe, but despite ordering a half size larger, I had to return it because it was too tight.

Very comfortable!

Very comfortable, with really good grip! The drawstring laces really help lock the foot in. The only downside is that they do make my feet sweat a little bit more than other shoes I own.

Very comfortable for daily use, durability iffy

I previously wore the X Ultra 3 and loved them. Very comfortable and durable. However, the fit changed with the 4 and they now don't seem to offer an option without Goretex. I'm a sweaty guy and Goretex doesn't breathe like I need it to. I really like these as a replacement, but the soles seem to wear out faster than the X Ultra 3. Additionally I find my toes are more likely to touch the front of the shoe if I don't have the laces on tight. No big deal, but something to keep in mind if you're on hilly trails.

Used for 100k hiking trip

Bought these trainers for a 100k hike in the Canadian Rockies and they preformed perfectly, no blisters even with only getting 15k in them to break them in beforehand.

Fantastic for hiking long distances over days.

I bought these initially in the wrong size, and Salomon let me return them and order a different size. I have been hiking regularly for years, and I normally suffer very badly from blisters etc despite doing everything in my power to avoid them. With these I got none at all over a challenging 3 day hike. Would strongly recommend. I have narrow feet with a high arch and these are perfect.

Great fit with a catch

The lacing system makes these the best for fit. So that's 5 stars. However, durability is a one star, since I've had to purchase 8 pairs in the past 4-5 years. The fabric wears through, even on the gore tex version.
