It is not wide enough.
I had the non-wide version of this shoe before - in the new version, even though I ordered a half size larger and the wide version, it was still tight on the sides and especially on top, so I had to return it!

Very poor quality shoes
After a month of moderate use a section of the back heel which is stuck on came away. They did send out a replacement but for the premium price I would expect a complete sole.

Quality diminished
I'm a mailman and walk approximately 80 km a week. My go to shoe for years was the Salomon XA PRO 3D GTX, when the v8 and v9 hit the scene they haven't been the same. First off they made the shoes narrower which pushed me into the wide variety, but that did not satisfy as the sole became less robust. I used to go through about 4-5 pairs a year but these newer versions are not up to what they used to be and on top of that they are less comfortable. I'm looking for a new shoe to meet what their original could: durability, comfort, fit.

Great shoes!
I love these shoes, and have been wearing the XA PRO 3D's for years. The only thing that has bothered me with the latest version was a lack of reinforcements on some of the Quicklace supports that have torn during standard use and have been replaced using Salomon's amazing warrantee. I will keep using them for as long as they are made!

Didn’t last very long
Bought a pair of these - size 12.5 wide in mid may 2025 for dog walking. In less that 2 months they have failed. The soles have eroded similar to slick racing tyres on places. Two small holes have appeared near to the toes on both shoes which is inexplicable - and when walking through wet grass they leak extensively. Initially was very happy with these but the build quality and durability just isn’t there. Walk about 10000-15000 steps a day over grass and paths/ pavement. Overall very disappointed at how quickly these have given up - and are over priced for how long they have lasted. Very disappointed and wouldn’t recommend

Highly recommended
Very comfortable, I stepped in a puddle of deep water and to my surprise the inside the shoe , socks and feet were completely dry, highly recommended.

EXTRAORDINARY COMPANY
I recently purchased my fifth pair of Salomon hiking shoes which is a strong indicator of my love for the brand. I only knew Salomon in my early years as a ski boot company until my niece took me to store in Vail, Colorado 30 years later and she recommended that I purchase Salomon hiking boots. I have never wavered since that purchase towards another brand.
