Why We Like The Salomon XA Pro 3D V9 Wide Trail Running Shoe

Worth it
Been wearing same style for 10+ years 40 hours a week. They hold up great, no splitting, tearing, etc. Set them next to new ones it’s hard to tell difference. Old ones have wear on insole, faded, and worn sole but otherwise good.

The Standard of Shoes
I’ve been using different iterations of the same Salomon XA PRO 3D series for the past decade from anything to construction work, trails, putting out fires, security work etc. and even worn out, they are still an incredibly comfy and supportive shoe. If I need a mid-boot size I’m getting their Forces XA series based on this shoe. Great work Salomon on making a jack of all trades shoe!

Reliable and comfortable
I have been wearing the various versions of this shoe for over a decade. Have had at least 8 pairs. Only criticism is lack of options/colors in 8.5 wide size

Past years quality was better
I had a pair of the same model 3d chasis shoes from 2017 that lasted years, much more durable rubber, thicker soles, etc. I wore them till they started cutting into my feet in the back. These new ones are showing signs of wear in 1 year that the 2017 pair didnt show for 4-6 years and i feel every rock i step on when i run. Im disappointed at the drop in durability. Lighter is not better to me.

Not my Speedcross
Using Speedcross for the last 15 years, I was fixated on how fast the single centerline lugs wore out. The XA Pro has 2 centerline rows so my thinking was that that would be better. We'll see over the next little while if that comes true but even if it does, I'll be going back to the Speedcross since they are way more comfortable. Not that the XA Pro is bad, it's just that they don't come close to the comfort of the Speedcross.

Great for short hikes and longer treks sometimes
Spent a couple weekends with these on in the Sierra Nevada Mountain. Worked well in wet and dry and some snow (but doesn't keep it out). Needs to be laced a little tight in order to be comfortable and tactile.

Awesome Trail Running Shoe
I have been wearing the XA PRO 3D's for years. Had pairs replaced using Salomon's amazing warranty. I will keep using them for as long as they keep making them.

Teririble!!
Bought the previous version and they fit well these unfortunately are terrible size wise/fit. I thought they’d be the same coming from the same company but unfortunately I was wrong. Can’t return as I have worn them so in the bin they go. I have used Salomon over the years but this is the end of my journey with them. Sizing always different and to be honest these are so uncomfortable and an expensive mistake…

Awesome
Very comfortable. Good for 30k steps a day. Still in search of a shoe that can last more than 6 months. I trust Salomon exclusively, I think they make the best shoes for my feet.
