Endorphin Speed 5 Running Shoe powers us forward with a snappy, spring-loaded ride
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I've put in serious miles with the Endorphin Speed 5, and it’s easily my favorite for tempo days and long runs. That PWRRUN PB foam stays incredibly light and springy, and the nylon plate gives just enough propulsion without feeling overly stiff. It’s fast but forgiving."
When we’re chasing PRs or just chasing the sun down the trail, the Saucony Endorphin Speed 5 Running Shoe keeps us light on our feet and charging ahead. Built on a platform of responsive PWRRUN PB foam, this shoe brings max energy return and a bouncy underfoot feel that keeps every stride efficient and alive.
Saucony carries over the trusted nylon plate from the Speed 4, adding a bit more flexibility to boost both comfort and stability without sacrificing propulsion. The 38mm stack height and 8mm drop remain unchanged, delivering a familiar ride that feels balanced and fast. Whether we’re logging base miles or picking up the pace, this shoe brings the speed.

Amping up for Speed
Like the weight and the construction of the Speed 5. It did take some time adjusting the shoe and experienced minor issues but nothing from stopping my run or training. Love the feel in the toe box.

Everything is Great
After a Runner's World review, I bought the more highly different brand with the Endorphin Speed 5 as my backup. However, after breaking in and running a few times with the different brand, something was off. It was not adapting to my pronation. It juts did not feel right. After a couple of months, I put on my Endorphin Speed 5. The fit, adaptation, pronation wear was perfect from the first few moments I started wearing it. I was so happy, I bought a second pair in a different color!

Bought these for speed work and ran my first marathon in them. I’m in love and will buy again

Another Endorphin Speed Gem from Saucony
This is a significant improvement over the Speed 4, and a much closer ride to my all time favorite Speed 3. Still the best super-trainer on the market!

Worst running shoes
The perfect shoe if you want to roll your ankles regularly. The midsole is tall and cushy but the upper hardly provides much support. They’re also incredibly narrow so if you have even slightly wide feet, they’re not ideal.

Fast daily trainers
A mixture of the OGs (1 and 2) with slightly more of a daily trainer feel. Sole seems more durable than the 4. And much better all around than the 3.

“It’s gotta be the shoes!”
I have owned the speed 3 , 4 (2 pair ) and now the 5s. The speeds have been my favorite running shoe by far. I have the loved the cushion and recoil and offset, light weight and comfort of the 3 s and 4s. I immediately cut 20 - 30 sec off my average mile times compared to the brooks shoes I was wearing, that came in at 10 ounces. I don’t feel that spring forward and bounce in my momentum, with the 5s, that I do in the speed 4s. I feel slower in the 5 and decided to put it to a non scientific test. I did 5 runs in the speed 5 last week and averaged 10 min 5 sec /mile. Today , I ran in my 4s and with less perceived effort ran 9 min 20 sec which was what I have always averaged. I I have no problems with the comfort of the shoe. I liked the speed 4 so much more because they were a well cushioned shoe with a low wt. and in a good price range.

Awesome do it all shoes!
I’ve got about 150 miles on these so far. I’ve done everything from speed work to a half marathon in them so far and have absolutely no complaints. If you’re looking for a light, responsive, do it all shoe, this is it.

Speed Shoe
Not bad, I feel the Speed 3 was better. The 5 fits a little wider and longer. The midsole on the 5 feels good. The Speed 4 felt lighter but the upper did not feel as supportive. The upper on the 5 seems to have too much material. Nevertheless, the Speed is my favorite running shoe.

A seriously great run
I already wear and love the Endorphin for my casual runs- so I got my son into them for his serious runs. Two thumbs up.
