Xodus Ultra 4 Trail Running Shoe cushions and grips for ultra-distance confidence
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I’ve taken the Xodus Ultra 4 on technical trail runs and long-distance hikes, and it never misses. The PWRRUN PB foam is super lively for how protective it feels, and the improved outsole grips in both dry dust and slick rock. Great mix of cushioning, stability, and traction."
When our trail plans stretch into the double digits—or even the ultramarathon realm—we reach for the Saucony Xodus Ultra 4 Trail Running Shoe. Designed for serious distance and rugged terrain, this workhorse balances high cushioning with reliable protection. A combination of responsive PWRRUN PB foam and a PWRRUN frame provides a plush yet supportive ride, and a broader platform adds stability on uneven ground.
On the upper, a breathable closed mesh defends against debris without sacrificing comfort, while the PWRTRAC outsole features improved traction and 4mm lugs that adapt to everything from loamy forest floors to rocky ascents. With a roomy midfoot fit, high stack height, and responsive cushion, this shoe is built to go the distance—whether that’s a morning trail loop or a 50K.

Great Shoes! Just what i needed!
I bought this shoe a week ago knowing I was running the Grand Canyon. I have a new bunionette that has made my normal trail/running shoes challenging because my feet have changed. The toe box is just wide enough that I didn't experience a ton of rubbbing. I wore them twice before the GC to try to get a feel for them. I wore my injiji toe socks and these shoes did not disappoint! At the end of the run I can say my feet felt great and the pounding on my legs was less than in my normal trail shoes. Thank you Saucony and shout out to my local shop - Peak Performance for the recommendation!

Love These Shoes!
Love Saucony! They hug my feet while allowing room for my toes to wiggle. My feet used to fall asleep and get tingly - not anymore - thank you!

Great grip
I am not a runner, but bought these for hiking on all the rock in Utah. They were perfect.

Best Trail Shoe
Bought this model Xodus in two colors and it is still the best trail shoe out there. Comfortable, good quality, handles rocks and roots well.

Xodus is a great shoe!
Disclaimer: I walk; I don't run. WOW! Great shoe. No one does shoes better than Saucony. Bought the autumn/barley color and it's beautiful. Great stability and cushion. Stellar traction, like most Saucony shoes. I would like some more basic black and navy colors, please. Without a different colored tongue. Overall, this is a fantastic shoe.

Excellent trail runner with forefoot support
Amazing trail runners and daily hiking and walking shoes! One of the FEW shoes I have found which gives ample cushioning to the metatarsal area of the foot. Most shoes give plenty of heel cushioning but ignore the forefoot. These feel balanced and are instantly comfortable. The heel to toe drop is minimal at 6mm ( I will not go above 6mm) and the length is true to size. Buy these, you will not regret them!

So comfortable!
Love these trail runners! I run in the mountains of Colorado and have metatarsal pain in my left foot, especially on sustained uphills. This is the only shoe I've found that helps it substantially. They feel like you're running on a cloud. Great grip and stability too. Just got them so have no idea for durability, but so far, they're awesome!
