Why We Like The Scarpa Veloce L Climbing Shoe
For performance, comfort, and freedom in one shoe, we look to the Scarpa Veloce L Climbing Shoe. As we train, the slight downturn and curvature help keep us precise and powerful through fatigue, and the soft midsole increases hooking performance and sensitivity overall, letting us really dial in our footwork. With a low-volume design, this shoe helps eliminate dead space for narrower feet, while the toe's refined shape gives our small toes room to exist, creating fewer pressure points.

Good shoe, too soft for me
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
- Size Bought:
- 40
These are comfortable and easy to break in. I bought them to use gym climbing (rope and bouldering) and they are a good moderate shoe. The laces are slippery, loosening at times, which is frustrating. I exclusively buy lace climbingshoes so Ican havethem tighter/looser at certain pointsand due to the materials of the tongue and laces these loosen. Sizing down is good like other reviews suggest. I give it 4 stars because I prefer firm shoes. I typically use the scarpa helix in the gym and scarpa vapor lace outdoors. I find these more comfortable (obviously a trad shoe-helix will be more comfortable), but they have firm soles. I have arthritis in my feet so this may be a personal problem, but I get better toe control with a firmer sole and toe box. I also grew up playing soccer with tight, firm, narrow shoes. To me, even sized right, the veloce toe box is too big and flimsy to get good control.

fab climbing shoes!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
- Size Bought:
- 38
I bought these a few weeks ago and, per usual, expected they'd need some breaking in time and would be awful for the first few times I used them. I was wrong. They were comfortable immediately and I have worn them consistently without changing them out. They stick to the wall nicely and do whatever I need them to. I'd happily recommend them. Strangers have also complimented me on how they look, which is not a primary concern, but I'll take it.
