Flats Sneaker delivers saltwater-ready grip and protection in a sneaker-style boot
What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"I use these every time I hit the flats or hop on the skiff. They’re tough enough to protect my feet from coral or sharp shells, but still super comfy for standing all day. The sneaker fit makes them easy to move in and the traction is top notch—even on wet decks."
From drift boats to sun-scorched flats, the Flats Sneaker is built to thrive where water meets wilderness. Designed with a sneaker-like profile for all-day comfort and agile movement, this technical fishing shoe pairs streamlined performance with serious protection.
Simms crafts the Flats Sneaker with durable, saltwater-resistant materials that hold up to brine, UV exposure, and abrasive terrain. A molded rubber toe and heel cap fend off stubs and punctures, while the gum rubber outsole grips slick skiff decks and rocky shallows without leaving marks. Neoprene lining boosts comfort, and reinforced eyelets ensure the laces stay secure through miles of wading or hours at the helm.

Jordans for wading!!!
These new flats sneakers are like wearing Jordan's while in the water!! These have been a comfortable boot but make sure to size up to wear a wading sock and you will not have any problems.

Great sizes
I was excited to see smaller sizers- I’m a woman with size 6 and was hopeful these would fit. They were a little too floppy for my foot. But still thought they were great - I did return and was disappointed I couldn’t make work

They ruined this boot!
This used to be an excellent flats boot. The whole appeal of the boot was it could be worn without gravel gaurds. It was very light and comfortable, great for walking miles in deep sticky mud looking for carp. They got rid of the built in gravel gaurd which was great at keeping the fine silt from accumulating inside the boot. They claim it was redesigned to give you quot;more optionsquot;. But they got rid of the best parts of this sneaker and made it an inferior boot. You already have a salt boot if I need quot;optionsquot;. The whole point was wearing them without a gravel gaurd! Go back to the way it was!!!

great boots with one major flaw.
I have had several pairs of these boots. the original flats sneaker was the best. unfortunately I gave them away to guide in the Bahamas that was doing most of his guiding barefoot. I have found that if you are fishing in areas with fine white sand and walking in the water all day. sand somehow finds its way in between the layers of fabric and is impossible to get out. after enough sand gets in there the boots become too tight and hurt my feet. In Christmas Island the crushed coral was not an issue. in the Bahamas and in turks the fine sand found its way in there and the boots no longer fit right. the last trip I was on it only happened to one of the boots. I wear gators and do everything I can to keep sand out of the boot. the sand is somehow penetrating the boot from the outside and getting in the Tonge and in the spot just above the toe.

Disappointed
Last pair of flats sneakers lasted 10 seasons and glue to sole extended life another year. Sole on current ones is delaminating after 2 seasons.
