What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:
"The Flyweight Wading Boot is a game-changer for high-mountain fishing trips. It’s light enough for long hikes, but the Vibram sole grips wet rocks like glue. The stud-compatible outsole gives me extra security in slippery conditions."
Answer the call of remote mountain streams with the Simms Flyweight Wading Boot. Designed for anglers who crave adventure off the beaten path, this boot delivers all the functionality of a traditional wading boot in a lightweight, low-profile package.
The Vibram® Idrogrip outsole offers exceptional traction on wet, mossy rocks, while its stud-compatible design ensures extra grip when needed. New boots
I needed boots with more traction than with my Simms felt sole boots. So far they seem good.

Happy with these boots
I just got back from a trip to western, rocky rivers. As hoped for, the boots are light and comfortable -- good for hiking in. The traction is better than I expected walking on submerged bowling-ball rocks -- definitely better than my old boots. Reason for removing a star is they're not as stout as I hoped -- ankle support is a little soft when navigating those submerged rocks and after a full day, the bottom of my foot felt fatigued. I suspect the sole isn't as thick as on more heavy-duty boots. I guess that's not unexpected in a lightweight boot. All in all, I like them a lot.
