Why We Like The Ruckus ChromaPop Sunglasses
The Ruckus Chromapop Sunglasses are Smith's premiere performance sunnies, and we love them for cycling, running, and working out under the bright sun. Smith's most innovative lens technology, Chromapop enhances overall clarity by filtering out secondary colors to make natural colors really pop. The Ruckus also has a unique frame that lets us switch out lenses easily, and the included bonus lens shows us the difference right out of the box.

Flawed design and not durable
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
After two years of weekend warrior use, the temple piece broke off where it meets the lens. Reading comments on the Smith site and here, this is not uncommon as where the piece meets there is only a small tab on the lens for this attachment. I would not buy another Smith frameless design as it's clear this is a design flaw. In addition, while the fast ability to changes lenses sounds good, in reality the temple piece very easily disconnects from the lens with any twisting movement. I've had the glasses disassemble multiple times while putting them up in my cycling helmet. They disengage far too easily. Like Smith's skiing helmets and goggles. Avoid their frameless glasses.

Had my eye on some other glasses for mountain biking. Eventually saw a discussion online about the Smith chroma pop. Backcountry had a deal and I went for it. Far exceeded expectations. The landscape and forest pop with the included rose lens.

Great Sunnies
Great quality with the fit and build. Having the rose lenses is great for low light or even nighttime. Second pair of this model that I have owned due to the craftsmanship of the product. Will buy again if needed.

No Replacement Parts, Scratches Easily, Weird Fit
Highly disappointed with my first pair of Smith sunglasses. The nose piece broke and now I have two lens that are going in the trash. Smith doesn't have replacement parts, other brands do. Smith won't warranty scratches, other companies will. Only thing good about sunglasses were the chromepop (or whatever its called). These things scratched so easily, I was very surprised. I wanted to baby them - even though I got them for MTB/gravel biking - but they scratched right away. The arms and nose piece felt cheap and looked cheap because it was hard to clean around them. There is also no adjustability in the nose piece. Glasses would touch my eyelashes because the fit was weird. Google what sunglasses the Tour de France riders wear, no one wears Smith.... I will be switching to a new brand and will not be coming back to Smith. Sad because I am an Oregonian.

Best Active Sunglasses
Really the best active sunglasses I've ever worn. They're extremely comfortable, they stay on my face, and they only fog up during super high output when it's raining. These are my go-to get-it-done eyewear.

I like the glasses a lot (comfortable, good coverage) but the nose piece is just so-so. I wish it were adjustable.
