Why We Like The Session MIPS Helmet
Style meets ventilation for total comfort in all-mountain applications in the new Smith Session MIPS Helmet. This all-new cranium coverage keeps your noggin on lockdown with a combination of Smiths Koroyd technology and MIPS, shielding you from impacts both direct and oblique, so you can charge through rowdy rock gardens while staying ventilated as you weave your way through technical switchbacks to the top for round two. And Smith doesn't hold back on the good looks either, with a modern and sleek style that falls neatly between the previously loved Rover and Forefront, giving just a little more coverage than its cross-country cousin, but with less bulk than the enduro-ready Forefront.

Great Helmet
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
They say a great rider has perfect posture, confidence, and skills—three qualities I lack entirely (as you can see from my photo) which is why it was so important that I get a helmet that can protect what little pink mush I have in my head. I can't say that this bucket has protected me from a critical accident, honestly, I don't ride fast enough to put myself in those positions, but I'm certainly prepared. This lid is so comfy that I've actually started putting it on even on my around-the-town rides where it's far more likely I have an accident.

Amazing helmet
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Finally, a helmet that fits perfectly! It's comfortable, lightweight, and breathable. It is low profile without compromising coverage. I love the matte color block. Would recommend this mountain biking helmet.

Crash Tested
I crashed really hard today. Lost it on a large jump, hit the ground and my head. Broke my glasses and cracked my helmet. I feel like I’ve been hit by a car but thankfully, my head feels great. I’m grateful for MIPS today and I have ordered another Session helmet.

No concussion, no problem
I never got around to reviewing my session but since I'll be getting a new helmet I guess I'll do it. Ive had this helmet for 3 seasons and it has served me well but unfortunately I biffed hard last week and I'll be needing a replacement. No concussion though, thanks to koroyd, mips, and smith. Yeehaw.

Uncomfortable
Two things: The liner padding so thinned out after 20 or so rides that the helmet now digs into. my forehead. And around the nape of your neck, the fitment system has zero padding. The plastic "pads" grab your skin and it's not comfy from day 1. By the end of a long ride, I couldn't stand how this helmet felt, especially if I was sweaty. Bummer.

Great for the Whole Family
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
Incredibly lightweight but sturdy helmet that can be easily adjusted! The whole family loves them and it is great that there are several designs to choose from.

The verdict is still out
Let me begin by saying that I have worn Smith sunglasses for several decades and love them. Due to this I decided to try a Smith Helmet. Still working on the fit. Helmet drops down and obscures my field of vision, I've tried every adjustment I can. Also, the sunglasses retainer doesn't work without destroying the ear pads on your glasses due to the honeycomb liner.

Great Design!
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:
- Medium
I bought this a month ago and love the design and the color. I always buy Smith because of their lifetime warranty. My measured head circumference was in between the small and the medium so I bought both to send one back and definitely needed the medium size.

Good but lacks sunglasses holder
Decent helmet, the fit is nice, feels great while I ride but it’s lacking any convenient place to put my sunglasses which is very annoying during a ride

This helmet didn’t fit. I
This helmet didn’t fit. I received it as a gift for Christmas and when I tried to return it, the company would not allow it since it had been past 30 days. That’s not much time for returns after the holidays!
