Fantastic Quality & Style, Undersized
I've got both colours of the Route 66 and love the classy western look that can be easier to wear and style than a full blown cowboy hat. The profile leans a little towards a Canadian fish and wildlife enforcement officer hat. Although it's crushable, it holds its form much like my other crushable Stetsons. That said, I refrain from crushing these as much as possible. Unlike other crushables, this one has a nice lining, bringing it a little closer to an Open Road. However, the Route 66 has a wider brim, which I prefer, and the back and front brim points down when you wear it. The only negative is that the sizing is off, running on the small size. I find this is an issue with most Stetsons. I'm a 7 1/8 (7 1/4 Stetson), 22.5cm, and a medium in the Route 66 'just' fits. It's snug, and is stretching a little, at least as much as the leather hat band will allow. I think a large would be too big. YMMV.

Cowboy hat “light”

I wanted a cowboy hat that wasn’t too over the top and this seems to work— cattleman crown but a shorter flat brim. The crushable felt means I don’t have to worry too much about tossing it in the backseat. Stetson reviews all say it runs pretty small and that’s true. I bought a size bigger and it fit perfect. Although after my first all day wear, it did stretch a fair bit so now I need to add a little sizing tape to snug it back up.
