Summit 50/50 AMK Hooded Jacket delivers next-level warmth, breathability, and mobility for alpine pushes

What Our Gearhead® Experts Are Saying:

"I used the Summit 50/50 AMK Hoodie on a fast-paced alpine push where overheating and chilling were both major risks—this hoodie managed both like a champ. The breathability of the 50/50 baffles kept my temp stable on the move, and the targeted insulation zones worked perfectly with my pack. It's one of the most technically advanced midlayers I've ever worn."

We push higher, move faster, and demand more from every piece of gear we bring. The Summit 50/50 AMK Hooded Jacket from The North Face is built for the highest-output alpine pursuits, combining air-permeable warmth with technical mobility to thrive in brutally variable conditions. With 50/50 baffle construction and ProDown™ insulation, it delivers exceptional warmth without trapping excess heat—keeping us dry and regulated during high-output climbs, skintracks, or ridge-line scrambles.

Strategic reinforcements like Spectra® ripstop on the shoulders and sleeves provide pack-worthy durability without adding weight. Underarm gussets stretch and breathe thanks to integrated NANOREFLECT™ tech, while the THINDOWN® panels in the lower body improve fit and reduce bulk under harnesses and hip belts. Add in details like the climbing helmet-compatible hood, bonded thumbhole cuffs, and ultralight AiryString® zipper, and we’re packing the ultimate midlayer in our summit kit.

Great product, misleading color.

The product is great, very breathable and by itself pretty warm. It's slightly heavier than the original AMK 50/50 but smaller when packed. Only issue with it is the color online is misleading. It's not at all the dark green pictured above, it's definitely lighter.
