Here's what customers have to say

The reviews for this tent are mixed. Some customers reported major issues like the tent blowing away, poor quality materials leading to tears and holes, and lack of customer support. However, other customers had a positive experience, describing the tent as comfortable and able to withstand heavy rain. The quality and durability seem inconsistent, so customers should carefully consider the potential risks before purchasing.

Blows away

Horrid design. How about some instructions...even online would be great.

Blows away

Set up twice, and both times the tent blew away down the street. Afriad to actually use it. The anchors dont seem to be enough.

Bad quality

We had a north face mountain Manor tent that we used for 10 years. No issue. I don't know what happened or what changes Northface has made to their tent construction but we had this tent for a month and it developed a tear in the fabric on the front of the tent. My son woke up with 20 mosquito bites on his face. Northface says it's not covered by warranty. Do not buy this tent save your money and buy a tent that will last more than one month. Even Coleman tents are more durable than this.

Great tent - no issues in the rain

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I'll start off by saying I've only used this tent once, but it was during a rainstorm. The tent is huge and comfortable (plenty of space for a family of 4 and lots of headroom all around). I was able to set it up with my 7 year old, so not too complex. The instructions aren't perfect though, and there will be a bit of a learning curve the first time you set it up. The vestibule area is huge and very convenient. It's big enough to put a couple of chairs or just leave stuff that doesn't need to go in the tent (e.g. shoes). In terms of bad weather, this tent was a champ. Even though it's a partial rainfly, there are velcro straps to keep it overlapping the waterproof part of the tent on the sides, and adjustable straps on the corners to tighten it after you put it on. It's well designed and held up great under a ton of rain. I also used the footprint, and you can see how well that worked for the ground in the picture. I don't have anything significant to complain about except maybe it's some work to fit back in the bag because it's so huge.

Tear

Tear in the bottom where the poles attach. I'm sure one rain and it will leak.

Bad Quality Material, No Help Provided

We decided to invest in a high quality tent with a trusted brand. We followed all directions given in use and care of the tent. However the second time we used it a bird dropping fell on the mesh while setting up the tent. We immediately wiped it off and cleaned it with soapy water. Through the evening we noticed a hole develop in the mesh. We rinsed the area again and kept an eye on it. The hole continued to grow as well as more develop around it. We rinsed again but even the most gentle touch made it worse. We submitted a claim and North Face says it's not covered under warranty and refused to help any further stating it was not a manufacture defect. They offered to let me pay them to fix it, but they cannot give me a quote until I send the entire tent in for them to evaluate. Save your time and money, clearly the materials don't live up to the price.

Absolutely amazing

I use this for family trips and for friend trips. It feels decadent with an 8x14 foot footprint with one or with three occupants. The rain proofing is unreal.

Excellent quality, tons of space and good looking too!

Love our Wawona 8, great quality and tons of space. Goes together easy just wish there were better directions instead of all pics, but I'd buy it again. Northface has a great reputation and anything with the brand has been good for me. I expect allot of years of service with this tent.

I'd sell my home and live in this 24/7

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Man, if this thing could be heated up or cooled down depending on the weather, I'd sell my home and stay in this forever. If me and my wife get in a little argument, I could throw up the divider to go in a separate room or she could just kick me outside and I'll stay nice and dry in the vestibule area. This tent is awesome, very well made compared to my old Coleman, I could see this lasting my lifetime.

Cry once, buy once!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Excellent quality and size. Fortunately I don't think I'll need to buy another in the future due to the quality of the materials used. Can't wait to set this up soon!
