Love it, great display

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I've been using SRM power controls for 25 years but wanted to try something that would work with my Garmin radar. The Ace is definitely different than what I am used to with it's much bigger screen. I don't use maps when I ride but like to have several pages where I see current data, max, averages, intervals, etc. I copied my SRM data fields and once I had the Ace set up it has been a joy to use. I've seen complaints that it's heavy but I have not noticed it when riding. It integrated with my Kickr really easily too. I've been using it for a month and battery life is good, could be better but I can ride about 15 hours in between charges. The screen is easy to read and changing between pages is easy. I am not a touchscreen person as I like to keep the screen as clean as possible, so the buttons are nice but the few times I have used the touchscreen it worked well and was responsive. Overall I am happy with it and don't miss my SRM PC like I thought I would. Good job Wahoo!

It's Big...But I Love It

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

I am coming from a Wahoo Roam 2 as I write this. I first saw it and decided to give it a try. I have never been a Garmin head unit guy but I wanted something that competed with the 1050. The UI has changed a bit but I do enjoy it. The screen is bright and the touchscreen is responsive. I do enjoy the dark/light mode as well. Battery is great, not Garmin Solar levels but a great improvement over the Roam 2. The wind sensor is interesting, cool if you are a data nerd (I am) but I already know how headwinds affect me and how being in the peloton affects power. I know where to be in different wind situations so I feel this is a miss..mostly. I think the device could be slimmer with it gone but I would love to see what could have been. The mount situation is rough, if you use integrated bars; but the FramesandGear option has been stellar for my Roval Rapie Cockpit. The bell is amazing and I use it more than I thought I would. Perfect for bike paths and runners in my experience. A lot of the original bugs at launch are gone and the updates have made this a great computer to use. It is big, portly, and thick, however once it is mounted, it is a great companion for long days as the navigation and UI are top notch, classic Wahoo. Big thumbs up on this device!

Ended up loving the color display

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Although I don't love the extra weight, the size and clarity of the display makes it lovely to use. I find it is my choice in 90% of rides; anything but the most competitive. It works with most but not all of my handlebar mounts. The weight hasn't been a problem for the mounts I have, but the clearance sometimes is tight or blocking.
