Why We Like The GateKeeper Tailgate Pad
When we're shuttling multiple laps up and down the mountain, there's no question that a tailgate pad is the quickest and most convenient way to get the job done. We're fans of the Yakima GateKeeper because of its SitTight cradles that add extra stability and protection for our beloved bikes, keeping them from shifting side to side on rough forest service roads.

Medium Pad on 2024 Ford Ranger
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
Pad is well constructed but very thin on outside of bed. I did not feel it had enough padding to protect the tailgate where the forks rested. To me, looked like it would dent the tailgate.

If only they'd included some instructions!
This is a great way to haul a number of bikes in a pickup truck without scratches to the bikes or the truck. When not in use the pad is easy to store. The only thing I wish they'd included was a set of instructions. I had to visit the Yakima website and look at the pictures to see the fine points of how to secure bikes for transport.

Only few months on my truck and looks great. Time will tell on durability.
