Very unsatisfied with these pants

These pants don't breathe. Horrible for backcountry skiing. I've never had my butt sweat while hiking and it does in the pants. I tried to return them to Black Diamond but they wouldn't take them. Do not buy these pants if you are an avid backcountry skier!

Perfect

Perfect for backcountry skiing in a variety of temperatures. Fit is true to size (size small) but I had to shorten them a bit (I placed a hem in between the two zippers, which worked out well without compromising the ventilation properties). Of course I would prefer a "short" option.

I love these pants

Great fit, significant amount of stretch for any movement, and awesome large pockets! I highly recommend these pants. They are very comfortable!

Really love these ski pants, great fabric and fit. Appreciate the beacon pocket and venting. The small fits great. . . I'm 5'9 and 140.

Women’s recon stretch ski pants

These pants fit well. I am 5’3” 125lbs. I am primarily a backcountry skier and these pants do not breathe. I have never had my legs and butt sweat so much even with the side vents open. I am very disappointed in these pants and bummed because they do have a nice fit. I do not recommend these pants if you are a backcountry skier. Probably fine if you are a resort skier.

Best Ski Touring Pants I have Found!

This is my third pair of the stretch recons. The fit is perfect and they have everything I need. It seems particularly hard to find pants with zippered and velcro cuffs so these are perfect for long days and a season full of touring where you are adjusting boots each run. Highly recommend!

Why are the pockets so high? Please make them lower so I can use them with a harness on.

These pockets are so high they are impossible to use with a harness. For a climbing company, that's a pretty big design flaw! Also the pockets are so tight it's hard to get much into them. This is disappointing for anyone who works in the industry and regularly needs to get items into their pockets, or for ski touring when again, you need to fit items beyond a cellphone and a tiny snack into your pockets. And as soon as you're on a glacier with a harness - forget about the phone and snack, as the pockets become totally obsolete! It would be great to see next year's pants have lower pockets, as otherwise they are a great pant.

Great Features

I love the beacon pocket on these pants! My beacon feels very secure and it is easy to get to. I purchased a size small online because that is the size I wear in any other brands of shell ski pants. These are very baggy on me, almost too baggy. It's nice that they have an adjustable belt, but I find that the belt slips during tours and my pants start sliding down. I might have to replace the belt and sew the length in place. They are also a tad longer than other size small shell pants I've owned, but I doesn't really bother me with my ski boots on. I probably could have easily gotten away with a size xs in these and I imagine they would still be plenty roomy, which is what I prefer in a shell pant. I couldn't find anywhere in my area to try them on, so I just had to send it. Overall I think these are amazing pants, but the sizing is definitely weird so try them on first if you can! For reference, I am 5'4" 115 lb with an athletic/non-curvy build.

I purchased these pants for the added protection over soft shell ski pants. I can still do a full squat and they keep me dry. My new favs!

Low Quality

I was excited to receive my new pants and try them out. I have had them for 6 weeks and they are falling apart. The button on the lower pant leg fell out the first time I used it, and it's gone downhill since then. They have been used for light- minimal activity: mainly walking and a few cross country ski runs. Very disappointed. The fit was great, if not a little too big. Comfortable, flexible, warm...just low quality.
